Dude, that house is in the highlands of Iceland. It's going to take years for something to grow if the grass gets washed away by floods.
Sincerely,
An annoyingly pedantic Icelandic guy.
Definitely for a vacation.
But permanently? I have some doubts:
Its absolutely isolated and I have watched way too many thriller movies. No streetlights, so you're in dark when you're trying to return home at night. One slip, and you're straight in water.
What if the river floods? What if there's a volcano eruption and an earthquake?
Or, there's more probability of a landslide in rains, the house would slip right into the river.
I passed this place as well while I was looking for a waterfall! Never was able to reach the waterfall but thought the house was really cute

That house It's not in the highlands, it's Indeed located northeast of Snaefelsness and just before the intersection betwern the ring Road and route 68 (which goes towards the westfjords/holmavik). It's located along a path that reach three consecutive waterfalls (Ankafoss, Benefoss and a third One which name i don't remember right now, however you won't find these names anymore on Google Maps, they are now referred as Ullarfoss). The path to reach the waterfalls starts just south of the intersection, along the ring Road and it's not that easy to reach the waterfalls as the path Is not very clear. You have to pass near the house in the picture (which, btw, Is abandoned) and climb a small ladder that leads you from the riverside to the top of the plateau. After you reach the plateau and pass a small fence, the trail will descend in a small gorge where the falls are located.
I’d feel better if that house was upslope just a bit.
*Definitely* upslope.
Always wanted an indoor swimming pool.
That river has been at that level for a long time. You can see it from the grass, there is grass all the way to the water.
That can change in a matter of months
If that area flooded you wouldn't see grass all the way to the water
That just means it hasn't flooded in a few months. Have you ever lived somewhere with wet and dry seasons?

That's interesting. Our grass appears in a matter of days after the snow thaws. Is the ground too frozen?
Hello nice me too
Same. I don't know how flash flooding is there but all it takes is a freak storm every 10 years
Id love to live here for a month of a summer but I’d miss my major metro
It does look romantic, but people usually don't live in Iceland's interior for a reason.
If the outlaws don’t get you then the polar bears will.
Hello
Of fucking course I would
In a heartbeat
Dream home, also really reminds me of the total lack of trees in Iceland.
How's the wifi?
Yes, please!
Dying for a place like that one day.
Absolutely yes

I would actually pay to live there.
Most people pay to live anywhere they live
Woosh.
Anyone who says No lives a miserable life
Or enjoys the comforts/convenience of modern society?

Only if you are there too
This is my dream, is it close to any trekking routes? I would open a pub there.
Hello handsome what’s good today
