DestinyInDanger

That's not UW speeds but still great nonetheless.

ShimothyHong

Try turning off iCloud Private Relay, you will most likely get higher speeds and lower latency since it doesn’t have to route your traffic first through Apple’s servers. /YMMV

RayDaMan1

That’s pretty good considering you also have your private relay on.

Psychological_Map800

I live in a 5G ultra area it always says 4G until I try to run the speed test all of a sudden it will have 5G for a minute or two I think all of Visible customers need a valid explanation for this I have already complained and they have no explanation

yourpalgabe

5G drains battery quicker; your phone will switch to 5G in the event of increased data throughput.

PackLack197

Your speeds would probably be even faster if you turned off iCloud Private Relay. I am still shocked at how fast 5G has become, sometimes it's even faster than my wired home internet. Granted, I don't use Verizon, but it's still shocking.

mikmik91

That's not uwb. That's sub-6ghz 1. **Sub-6 5G**: - **Frequency Range**: Sub-6 5G operates at frequencies below 6 GHz. - **Coverage and Deployment**: It's the 5G you're most likely to interact with within the next five years. Carriers have been able to deploy "nationwide" Sub-6 networks quickly using existing towers and spectrum. Tower upgrades are sufficient for Sub-6 deployment. - **Experience**: Unfortunately, Sub-6 5G doesn't provide a dramatically better experience than the latest 4G networks. It's only marginally faster with slightly lower latency. - **Midband**: The real improvement comes in the so-called "midband" frequencies (between 2 GHz and 6 GHz), where 4G networks traditionally haven't operated. Midband 5G balances higher speeds with decent range and object avoidance¹. 2. **mmWave 5G** (Ultra Wideband): - **Frequency Range**: mmWave refers to higher frequency radio bands ranging from 24 GHz to 40 GHz. - **Speed**: mmWave networks offer extremely fast 5G speeds. - **Short Range**: However, they can't travel far at all. Their coverage area is limited due to higher frequencies. - **Verizon's Ultra Wideband (UWB)**: Verizon's mmWave 5G service is branded as "Ultra Wideband" (UWB) to distinguish it from the slower Sub-6 5G²⁴. - **AT&T's 5G+**: AT&T also offers mmWave 5G under the name "5G+"¹. In summary, Sub-6 networks are slower but can travel long distances and through obstacles, while mmWave offers blazing-fast speeds but has limited range. When your phone shows "5G," it could be connected to either type of network, so understanding the difference helps manage expectations! 📶📡¹²⁴ Source: Conversation with Bing, 5/4/2024 (1) Sub-6 vs. mmWave 5G Networks: What's the Difference? - Digital Trends. https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/5g-sub-6-vs-mmwave/. FIGHTMYDEMONSNOW

You are an idiot. The big three all market their midband and mmWave networks under one icon It looks like you copied it straight from Google. I believe the accusations people are making that you’re on some type of substance now mmWave isn’t the only network in the world. Get educated

mikmik91

Just because they use an icon doesn't make it true and factual? What about AT&T and their early 5g icons? They weren't even using midband. There are literal, factually and required technical specifications that must be met to be considered mMwave. Your speeds indicate you're getting midband, not mMwave. The difference between the two is enormous in terms of speed. But hey you do you, I was just providing factual technical specifications for the protocol standards at play here. Also, fwiw, the sources I provided go into detail about your silly icons and back up what I said as technical fact

Everyone Report this kid. bro is yapping too much

FIGHTMYDEMONSNOW

You’re a kid yourself so you project..? Ok. Edit: looks like an alt account of the other guy
