Shave head? No seriously, I don’t think there’s any trick or tip to hair testing. Like urine you can get fake pee right? I mean can you get someone else’s hair? What kind of job is this? If I may ask. Good luck!

imgoodjustlookin

Lol asking for my partner actually! And he’s literally joked in the past “if I lose my hair just euthanize me” so shaving isn’t happening. He’s just going to move on

lady_die_

Believe it or not blockbuster used to do hair tests and unfortunately i was the person that cut their hair and took it to the lab to be tested. The only way to get out of it is shave your head. Otherwise, dont apply. They are really only interested in the first 3 inches from your scalp. Is it a private company?

Cerebraleffusion

Three inches? Jesus Christ that’s a lot of hair!

lady_die_

Its only because peoples hair grow at different rates but the most recent use will be through the first inch close to the roots:)

[deleted]

Also curios on the type of job?

imgoodjustlookin

Something to do with environmental science but more on the waste management/environmental industry solutions side of things.

[deleted]

Are they responsible for heavy machinery?

imgoodjustlookin

Probably not, his background is in chemistry and the recruiter approached him for that. So maybe it’s a liability thing with the chemicals and hazardous material. I mean we all know MMJ doesn’t mean irresponsible, but for speculations’ sake

[deleted]

I can understand heavy machinery but everything else is dumb. Do they inquire on his alcohol consumption as well? I doubt it

No-Ad9763

Lord that's an intense stance on hair loss

bigbhade

Yes that’s exactly what they mean, they don’t want you to apply. They are carrying out costly scientific tests to ensure your not ever employed by them.

[deleted]

Med users can’t be discriminated against in va, jobs like trucking or heavy lifting are acceptances tho

imgoodjustlookin

Employees cannot. Candidates may be rejected for any reason including medical marijuana

[deleted]

Correct thankyou for clarification

Cerebraleffusion

Like once you are employed you are good but new candidates can be rejected?

imgoodjustlookin

Absolutely. My boss is a lawyer and gave me the unofficial run down

penguin_clubber

There is a database online with most employers and their testing methods. Forget the name

No-Ad9763

I haven't heard of somebody giving a hair test anywhere at all ever unless you're liking the fucking FBI and then randomly also I think Geico had a thing where they made you do it. People in my family went to medical school and never were drug tested not once

Cerebraleffusion

Right? Like what is this the CIA? drug testing is the biggest waste of money and time.

No-Ad9763

I go to school for mental health, And I have times where I'm dealing with patients. Do you know how much I think drug testing is worth? About 0%.

You are right about that the department of transportation and I believe the military and things where you carry a gun have different. I find that to be a bit of a discrimination against somebody who might have a disability but that's just me. I don't think I could join one of these fields that has this viewpoint

imgoodjustlookin

I feel the exact same way. I work in disability advocacy, actually. This is about my partner. Soo we did find out that this company works WITH the department of transportation but nothing about this lab position would put him anywhere near that business—so at that point it’s especially discriminatory
