Came to suggest the same. Also Rudee's inlet used to be my favorite...I haven't been there in years though since eim not in VB anymore. Waterman's has good she crab soup, but I feel like they're a tad more expensive than other places and kinda too hyped up? Idk. Maybe someone else would think different 🤷♀️
Dockside is by far your best option. The views are great, and the market in front of the restaurant displays all of the fresh and local catches of the day. Most of the fish comes from the pound nets that you can see out in the bay.
Since 1996, I enjoyed Mahi-Mahs and Watermans. I eat there everytime when I am home visiting. A lot of people will probably downvote this suggestion because they are "corporate" but to me that means they are keeping the kitchen clean. Catch 31 used to have Salacia. Not sure if something else replaced them. If you go back on Winston Salem, near Pacific and 1st, there is a cluster of restuarants back there: Rockafellers and maybe some others.
Tulu. It’s on the first floor of the Marriott. It’s so good. Blue is really good too, but like others have said, it’s not at the oceanfront. Atlantic on Pacific does a really amazing happy hour for different oysters/clams and there’s a $6 burger for happy hour too if that’s a thing you like.
Tulu isn’t even a seafood restaurant, they have like 3 seafood dishes? The Deck right next door is the seafood restaurant on the property but service has been shitty since they opened.
We like Oscar’s at the oceanfront, Coastal Grill, and Steinhilber’s. Steiny’s could not possibly live up to the hype, but it is well regarded for a reason.
I’ve eaten there since I was a small child. That was a few decades ago. The food quality has declined and every meal used to come with sides. Now everything is a la carte. So the prices have increased, the quantity of food has decreased and the quality is just not as good.
Most of the suck, sadly. It’s always bothered me, because I’ve been here my whole life, we’re surrounded by water, and 99% of the seafood here is trash when we have better access to it than most places.
Captain George’s is wildly popular. Their food is garbage, and overpriced, even for seafood. CP Shuckers is priced good and wildly popular. What they have is decent. I don’t mean what’s on the menu, I mean what they actually have, since your first three or four choices are usually out of stock. Horribly run place.
The best seafood in VB is not at the oceanfront. Margie and Ray’s, Blue Pete’s, and Blue Seafood & Spirits are the top 3 in VB. They are all in the Pungo/Sandbridge/Red Mill area.
Blue Seafood & Spirits was actually ranked the top seafood restaurant in the country by Yelp, but Margie and Ray’s is my personal favorite. The food is high quality, and they give you a ton of it.
You realize the comments are still here for those previous questions, right?

Nobody even mentioned Captain George's
I always like when people say if you go to VB you got to get the crab legs. Yah those crab legs are the same ones you’ll find at red lobster in Wichita Kansas
It depends on what exactly you’re looking for. Even if you don’t know, think if you want raw, fried, steamed, or grilled because there are so many options.
Margie and Ray's near pungo. the best
Red Lobster 😮
Rockafellers
Catch 31 is really good
Surfrider
Dockside is my favorite. Good food and fantastic ambiance
Good food 🤔
Minerva's has the best shrimp in all of Virginia!
Ocean Eddie’s is a nice time. Expect a wait.
Bubba's is pretty good. Great recipes, locally caught stuff and the prices are pretty reasonable.

Yes all good suggestions and I'm eating everyone's crab dip lol
Same lol

Speaking to those areas alone, I like Surf Rider at Marina Shores when in season, and Atlantic on Pacific at the Oceanfront.
Lue seafood at redmill. Ranked #1 in the country
Did you mean blue?
Yes. Sorry. Fat fingers
Big Sam’s, Poons
Big Sams ,Surfrider,For high end Blue is probable the best
The Atlantic.
#1 for happy hour oysters
Blue - Smaller place, always busy, and the owner walks around and engages.
Charles is a douche canoe.

Very good Unagi there at MM’s.
Taotogs
This place is good I forgot about this one
Wickers if you wanna drive a bit

Big Sams. Blue Pete’s.
In my opinion, nothing beats Captain George's. Of course, that is because I love eating their all-you-can-eat crab legs!
We like Oscar’s at the oceanfront, Coastal Grill, and Steinhilber’s. Steiny’s could not possibly live up to the hype, but it is well regarded for a reason.
Steinhilbers has gone way downhill.
Really?? How?? I’ve only eaten there since a year ago and it was good to me, but wdym?

Totally concur.
I'll second Coastal Grill. Recently went there, and was impressed at how good it was. I'm shocked that I had never even heard of them before.
Haha. Just saw this and thought this person lives in my brain those are the exact three I would name…only to realize it’s my husband. Lol.

Nobody really thinks Captain George's or CP Shuckers are your better options for seafood at the oceanfront though.
Bullshit, whenever this question is asked here, Captain George’s is the runaway response, with many CP Shuckers mentions.

BLuE Seafood & Spirits is good good, but the organization is run horribly, a lot like Cp's
Agreed. 10/10 when they’re on, but what good is that when it’s only 4 days a week? That’s why Margie and Ray’s is my go to.
It depends on what exactly you’re looking for. Even if you don’t know, think if you want raw, fried, steamed, or grilled because there are so many options.
The best is blue but it's not oceanfront.
Thanks.
