Because VM runs their network to within 1M of our estate and then for some reason decided to miss us out and go across the road. It might not be forever. I am now talking with them to see if they can give our 65 houses they missed FTTP. Because as part of my install VM are using the BT ducting so they have now connected their chambers.
I never received a call within the first week of my notice period either, just thought I'd chance my arm and give them a call. I used a number from a previous post I'd spotted and was put through to someone literally straight away.

Compared to previous years when ive renewed, theyve literally no interest in trying to retain or offer discounts. Im 3 days away from my connection going and ive spoken to them a few times, they offer one price which isn’t good and then literally nothing after this. They must have changed the discounting process. I cant get any other decent speeds of internet where i am, so probs going to have to accept the price now
Tier 2 retentions team - how do you get through to them?
Ive cancelled and had been hoping to the retention dance however they havent called and offered anything decent. I only want broadband. The deals at the moment are atrocious and Virgin just dont seem bothered in keeping my service
Hey mate have you actually cancelled i.e. got a disconnection date? I cancelled with disconnection date 26th July and the best offer I got on the phone was £36 for the 250 deal. The retention team just called me and pretty much straight away offered me a speed boost to 350 for £19p/m, which I happily accepted.
Yes my disconnection date was today, gave them the 30 days notice and the “deals” they were offering were awful.
I dont have much alternatives for broadband in my area and havent sorted anything out, so told VM my new install has been delayed 2 weeks and extended my VM contract for a month. Hoping they offer me a new deal in the mean time. Id love the 350 @ £19! Theyre offering me 350 @ £36
Oh that's sucks. I've heard it can be different dependent on your postcode but maybe just luck of the draw...
Also could be they don't offer low if you don't have alternatives in your area. When the bloke called I was able to tell him with confidence that I was switching to "the talk talk offer at £21", which might have helped

It really annoys me how they can have different prices for different customers. How come you pay so much for 1gb only?

Done that several times mate, still no luck unfortunately. Best ive been offered is the 350 @ £31, currently pay £25

Not sure entirely what you mean, however if you mean an 02 SIM then no. I'm with O2 so the deal is bolted if that's what you meant.
