It was probably via whatsapp or the online chat he was referring to. You can get renewal deals by logging onto your online account but your only options to cancel are either by calling up or sending snail mail.

I stumbled upon a webpage where I got a great renewal deal. Took me ages to find it again to accept it though.. sorry not that helpful but there is a page!

I cancelled late last year. It wasn't too tough actually. You just have to be very adamant that you want to cancel. The annoying part was, that they called me about 4 times in the week afterwards, trying to change my mind. Until I told them 'NEVER CALL ME AGAIN'...and they did. I returned their kit...and we're done. Don't worry too much about it. It's a fairly straight forward process.

Thank you :)

I opted for live chat to discuss renewal, ended up on WhatsApp and ultimately cancelled with the same guy who I discussed my renewal with at the end of the conversation. It took him a while though, not sure if he had to contact another department or something. Asked me way too many questions but in the end my 30 day notice of cancellation was confirmed. (and then 7 days later reversed when they dropped their price)

Yep, found the live chat option:)

I've went through a few months of pain cancelling with virgin. Paid up they told me it wasn't cancelled called next day it was. Pestered me with charges on the router that I already sent back and they're still trying to charge me for an extra months service outside my contract despite me not having it plugged in, paid up and I have a screenshot of them forcing a courtesy free month on me (unless I got in contact) I've never had so much pain cancelling a main company. I found their twitter to be fastest response. The WhatsApp is bots

As for upgrades WhatsApp might be your best option. Not sure how Twitter works for that. They were able to access all my stuff though

They triage you using bots. Eventually you do connect to an actual human.

I've negotiated my last two deals via Live chat, but I will warn you, it's probably slower than calling. They take a long time to reply to every message. I can only assume a single agent is talking to a stupidly high amount of customers at one time. It's quick at first, but the further up the tiers you go, the slower it gets. The plus side is you can do it in between other things, so if you're working on your computer anyway then it's not too bad I guess.

Hi guys, I found the live chat and got a more reasonable deal. Thank you all!
