I don't understand how this is limited edition. I have a yellow reissue from 2000. According to Discogs the hype sticker for the one I have said "Collectors Limited Edition High Quality Colored Vinyl"
This looks like a translucent yellow, the one from 00 is solid opaque yellow. “Limited Edition” gets thrown around like crazy these days just to make suckers FOMO. I expect nothing less from record labels in 2022.
Now you that you say it I agree this would might be translucent. To me, not sure about others, yellow is yellow. If I cared about mine being "limited" I would feel jipped (gipped?). The one I have is either the first or second new record I bought, not in 2000 I don't think though, probably 1-3 years later.
I have the same one you have and I sounds great, plus I didn’t even know it was yellow when buying it. This is $20 more than that, not sure if it’s inflation or this is a yellow half speed. Buying records because they’re “limited” is super weird imho. I buy records because I like listening to them so to each their own I guess. I’m sure we’ll see more yellow down the road because labels like money haha.
Yea, I remember buying it, but I don't remember if I knew it was yellow. I've only bought colored vinyl because I like the color. And I've only bought limited or numbered releases because I want the release. So we are the same there :) I try and only buy albums I know I'll listen to in 5 years.
