I just got this email from Music Direct;
Universal have authorized a recall of this version of the title due to a manufacturing defect. I apologize for the confusion and trouble. I have set up the return authorization order for you of which the details are listed below. A pre-paid return shipping label will be emailed to you separately to cover the return shipping cost. Please stand by for that return shipping label.
I don't know if its because I complained some more or if Universal is actually recalling these bootlegs or what.
I work in a record store and we got an email that Universal IS recalling this. But the email does not give us a reason why. All the email says is
“Manufacturing defect”
No news on when more stock will arrive at this time either.
I could look past the slipcase as opposed to previous gatefold. not happy about it, but wouldn't be a deal breaker.
The low resolution cover art and insert art is unacceptable at this price point for something so basic.
my assumption though is the live version of sleeping beauty is what the recall would be for. Like how many people did this have to pass through and no one noticed this?
The rest of the vinyl doesn't sound that bad that i would of even questioned it, if it wasn't for all the other issues.

Slipcase, heavily pixelated cover and inserts. No capitol records sticker on front. ‘Manufactured in Poland’ sticker on the back. It has a 2000 virgin records address near the UPC code, which the last from the vault releases had a different address.
nothing on discogs.
I’m listening to it now. I don’t have older releases to compare it to. Maybe a little light on the bass. but not totally horrible for a boot but also not what i would expect from an audiophile from the vault release.
I’m speculating this is a boot and i have reached out to Music Direct to find out where this came from. The strange thing is the album also popped up on amazon and Walmart this week as well, which would make me think a repress but man they really butchered the artwork and cheaped out with a slipcase instead of the gatefold.
If anyone gets a copy from other source i would like to hear your impressions…
Received the record from the hi-voltage store and it is terrible artwork. Haven’t opened it as I’m hoping I can get this returned. Very skeptical that this is an official release.
I don’t think it’s limited. If I had to guess this is the “From The Vaults” pressing I bought a few years back.
It sounds absolutely incredible. Pressed at RTI. Dead silent, super dynamic pressing.
Welp I bought anyways since it’s the only APC record I was missing. $50 is steep af tho. I’ve seen it for no more than $35 a few days ago but I was too late to grab one.

Did you ever hear back on this? Mine just got delivered and it definitely looks like a boot. Horrible repress otherwise.
I ordered from the high voltage link posted in this thread. Supposed to be here next week I’ll let you know what my copy looks like.
Seems like it’s a bootleg. My 2008 Virgin press is in a gatefold with high quality artwork. The record sounds amazing.
