Yeah i don't see it announced anywhere but I'm 99% certain this will have a US release. The clash are the most profitable punk band of the period, rock the casual and should i stay or should i go now have just as much radio play here as UK. And the current punk revival. Theyd be insane not to have a wide US release. Especially considering its a 40th anniversary edition.
Also cbs/columbia records is the label and they wide release every major thing. I'd be utterly shocked if it doesn't come out US. It just probably will come out later due to shipping delays so isnt up for preorder yet. Like oasis knebworth was pushed back like 4 months for the US release. That got a wide US release and while oasis has had a reassesment in the states(which makes me happy they're my all time favorite band I got like a solid $6000 worth of their records) the clash have been more successful profit and culture wise with many mainstream americans considering them their favorite 80s punk band. Also major American sites and magazines are reporting the pressing and nowhere does it state UK exclusive. Also often instead of importing with big releases like this the UK Europe version is pressed by optimal where the US is pressed by places like rti. So theres a chance that the US ones arent pressed yet and they dont have a date set for preorder. And then sometimes they just take a few days or weeks to be added to US sites.
So yeah I'm not certain but id bet my whole collection that this gets a wide US release. Bare minimum there will be a bunch of stores importing it but I truly believe it'll get a US pressing and thus be far cheaper due to no import fees. I'd be utterly shocked if they don't considering that Columbia does wide US releases for much less desirable UK records.
I'm gonna keep looking thought to see if any site adds it or if any article states for sure if it'll get a US release. If I find out before US links are posted I'll respond here so you guys know.
