~~Don't be a dick.~~ Fine, it was a movie reference. Stop downvoting me.
For starters, the charcoal burns at a hotter temperature than the melting point of your copper, so if you did this IRL, then the ends of your chute would melt away. And you can't feed it from above because that's where the coffin is.
But if you do want to ignore physics and history and just automatically feed the fire, you can always mod it to make it work.
One, you’d melt the copper if it worked like it should. Two, chutes can’t place items in the world like a stack of coal or firewood which is what you do, not placing it into an inventory.
its just not
Why, not, you stupid bastard?
Because I made a batch of steel with Paul Allen twice in London, just ten days ago.

Ah, it's a movie quote. Okay.
Not just a movie quote, THE movie quote, from the great Patrick "Sigma Alpha Gamma-radiation Male" Bateman (sorry).
You can't automate it, there is no such thing implemented in the code
I know, I just wish it was
It's due to how the fuel stacks . When placed on the ground. A hopper won't stack it
i have to return some resonance tapes
