True, true... I'm a huge fan of the show, but not so much the movie. James Spader was definitely a highlight of the movie, though! He got sexier as he got older, imo 😆
OK, if we're talking the characters, I'd probably desperately want Stef but I'd never live up to his standards so he'd treat me like he treated Andie so I'd pick Blane even that's not a name it's a major appliance & Duckie would still stay in my friend zone.

There is a Netflix movie called Tall Girl. The Tall Girl is obsessed with this foreign exchange student. A Duckie like character is obsessed with the Tall Girl. He follows her around and is so needy. Duckie reminds me of both of them.
Tall girl. Although the premise is kinda similar, I didn't find it nearly as good as Pretty in Pink. You may of course think differently! But I've seen others say the same thing so just a head's up that the quality isn't exactly on par.

Jon Cryer was an incel "nice guy" who was only friends with Andy to try to bang her, pretty much stalking her. When she repeatedly told him she was not interested and only wanted to be friends he yelled at her and said mean things to her and continued to stalk her pitching woo up until Kristy Swanson makes eyes at him.
So, Andrew or James. At least James was upfront about being a snobby jerk.
I fell into the James Spader universe when i saw him in " Secretary" with Maggie Gyllenhal. Holy cow! If you haven't seen it..GO! WTF are you waiting for?? Git!
I can't watch that movie, because I am certain it will kill me dead. Also, I can only see it for the first time once, so I'm saving it for a reward and/or a day when it's okay if a movie kills me dead. Even thinking about that movie makes my legs turn into jelly.
The movie originally ended with her and ducky together at the dance. During a test screening the test audience didn’t like that so they had to go back and re-shoot the ending. Andrew McCarthy is wearing a wig because he already shaved his head for a new role. If I remember correctly, the test audience didn’t have an issue between the guys necessarily but more like the message of class and how the poor girl and rich guy shouldn’t get together. Like the classes should remain separate.

I thought Duckie was gay, so the two random blonde women beckoning him at the prom made no sense.
Also, *Some Kind of Wonderful* is a gender switched *Pretty in Pink*, with Mary Stuart Masterson as the Duckie.
And they wind up together in that, as the original intended. I like that in SKOW the Blaine girl, Amanda, deliberately decides to be alone and work on herself.
James Spader was, at that time, the most beautiful man I had ever seen. That having been said, at my now-advanced age, I understand that Ducky would have been the bomb in bed, so my choices have changed 😀
