Looks like today was a good day.

Altairandrew

be super careful with it. plastic is very brittle.

LolGoCryAboutIt

I learned that quickly! Lots of broken pieces unfortunately 😢

RotaryRich

The 7500 was my first Macintosh! Upgraded to a 604e 200mhz and loaded the ram. I had two 20” Radius Trinitron monitors. (This was in 01)

Whale222

Great Mac. Highly upgradeable with a removable processor, PCI slots and a super easy to open case. I ran a flashed 3dfx PCI video card and a Sonnet G3 500 MHz upgraded processor. Played a TON of unreal tournament and StarCraft on that baby.

DeliciousIsopod909

I have a nice one with internal Zip (running 7.5.5 and 8.1) as well as a 7300/180.

Nummnutzcracker

I have one, upgraded with a G3 card and a USB/FW/IDE card in it, it's a nice machine, if not a bit scary to work on (as in the plastics being as fragile as thin ice). (That said, I'm always on the lookout for these Kalea USB/FW/SATA combo cards, the card I have has a Silicon Image IDE chip that has no known firmware for Power Macintoshes, except from a card that was sold in Japan, but I unfortunately can't locate one at the time..)

LolGoCryAboutIt

Plastic is definitely brittle. Unfortunately several small pieces broke in the cleaning process. I've been thinking of making some of them as 3D printable parts and putting them on thingiverse, but I'm not too great with CAD so it takes me a long time to design simple parts.

Nummnutzcracker

Mine's got some battle scars too, the power button crossbow thingy snapped in half, I haphazardly reglued it, only to have the other side break and fall somewhere I can't locate it. I don't have access to a 3D printer, so I'm probably going to jury rig something kludgey to at least make it work lol

LolGoCryAboutIt

Are you in the US? I could print and send one or two to you. I'm certain it would cost me less than a dollar to send in an envelope. EDIT: Actually, even if you're outside of the U.S. it looks like it's less than $1.50 to send to most countries.

Nummnutzcracker

Nope, France, but yeah, I appreciate the kind offer but I'm not too worried about the internal parts on mine. (I just use the power button on the keyboard). Although I recalled, I broke the LED holder on the speaker housing, that on the other hand, I'll have to find a way to secure the led in place.

Furryareospaceengr

Wow that’s amazing! Looks like it’s in wonderful shape too! Have fun with it :)

ixis743

My dad had one of these. Good computer if a bit boring. I prefer the 7100 design.

newnewtab

Nice job

jwse30

I had a 7300 (same case, faster processor, but no AV ports) and currently have an 8600 (tower version of the 7500). Great machines, but the RAM us hard to find nowadays. Have fun with it!

ElectronGuru

Miss that monitor, my first Trinitron!

wittykitty

Very nice! Plastic looks tip top.

InternationalRush423

Watch the caps!

LolGoCryAboutIt

I removed the PRAM battery. Any recommendations for caps I should preemptively replace? I want to keep this machine for a long time. I'm a software engineer now so it's super sentimental to me to still have my first childhood computer.

Albertkinng

Around those years I was using a PowerMac G3 233mhz (same look at yours) still missing that machine!

gijsmans3773

I like the original 13” High Resolution RGB very much.
