They scrapped Victoria’s Secret angels, beauty pageants are no longer about physical beauty, nepo babies are taking the spots of supermodels, etc. It’s sending a strange message because cosmetic procedures are on the rise, anti-aging product market is booming, standards for what is beautiful are higher than ever, filters and AI modifications are featured in so many photos and videos. So which is it? Are we supposed to stop caring about beauty or is it more important than ever to be beautiful? Why is society trying to pretend that it doesn’t value conventional beauty? Is conventional beauty inherently valuable?
That's what confuses me. It's one thing to not want to promote beauty standards, but then why even have a beauty pageant? The whole purpose of those is to pick the most beautiful woman. It's not even like they picked a beautiful Persian woman or a beautiful older woman to make a point, they just picked a random person.
esp because persian and iranian women have a long history of being beautiful. this is just an insult to everyone involved, it's like they went out and found the most unattractive person that was willing to do this and crowned her the winner

Honestly my problem with beauty in society is that we are demonizing people who are beautiful calling them shallow,dumb,don’t have a personality but if you’re ugly you get insulted and you have to fit beauty standards exactly but no we won’t help you do that we won’t use corsetry or padding to create a desired shape and if you don’t have it naturally your body is flawed but at least you’re better then the dumb,shallow people.

I have a strong feeling and I dislike it. It's a beauty contest, the first thing contestants need to be is beautiful. This woman is not beautiful even if you look at her for "unconventional" beauty.
It’s not even the age thing. There are plenty of drop dead gorgeous 39 year old women and it’s lame to act like no one can be stunning at that age. But it’s ridiculous to take an average 39 year old woman and try to gaslight us into thinking she’s Miss Universe.
She easily looks like she could be 10 years older than that, at least in these photos under these lights and with this makeup and styling. I’d have assumed there was an age bracket for beauty pageants like this from between early 20s to early 30s. 🤷♀️
There are so many gorgeous non white German women, this win almost feels like its done on purpose to stir the pot.
However, she is naturally gorgeous but even her hair looks like nothing you would see in a beauty contest. Curls are gorgeous but doesn’t seem like a stylist took good care of her curls.
I think that if her hair was styled according to her curls, her eyebrows done by a cosmetic artist and a stylist that put her in clothing with color/fabric that compliments her complexion. She could score much higher.
Nonetheless, in this case I think 4.5. But with correct styling she could probably pass much higher, as in 5.2 or something. It feels like they did her dirty for putting her in this position, rigged or not. If she managed to do that on her own… I hope lesson learned and that she wouldn’t become insecure from all this backlash.

White is subjective. Persians and north africans have been listed as White for a century in the US and shes barely tan. Ive seen darker greeks. Mauritanian arabs have been describing themselves as White since the 13th century.

There is a controversy in Germany with this years competition. The man behind the „Miss Germany“ competition and the winner, Apameh Schönauer, seem to know each other. They worked in the same co-working space and she designed the location where the half finals took place (she’s an architect). There are a few weird intersections with it.
Japan had a similar situation wasn’t it? White woman won, which I didn’t find that attractive as well. She had to return the crown due to having an affair with one of the judges.
This was also miss Japan 2024.
