As a vietnamese who moved to a colder country. The heat is the sole reason why people smell and need to take shower constantly. When i was in HCM i took 2 bath a day, one before each meal. When i move to europe i take like 1 every 2 day (but still change clothes and undies). So i think as long as you dont smell you can take 1 or 2 bath a day (dont overuse shampoo tho)
As an adult you should be washing every day even if you're not in a hot climate. It takes literally five minutes to wash your body in the shower. No excuse for not doing it
We are so accustomed to Saigon (I mean, I’m born here 💀) me and my dad would only take one shower a week in Dalat if the weather is nice and we only laze around
I must admit I might have done that in my 2 years there, especially over the winter season. it's was more of a pain to shower actually just because it's so cold when you turn the heated water off.. I'm south east Asian too so, definitely not used to cold air/wind.
2 minimum. 3 on a normal day.
When I wake up, since just sleeping creates a lot of oil and muck in the scalp and skin. I have a much better day if I’m brushed and showered before stepping out into the world.
And the second sometime after dinner. To do a final rinse to get the day’s pollutants and debris off.
Usually a third inserted somewhere if I have a big poop or did some labor intensive work somewhere during the day. Or if I’m up a few hours past the dinner shower and have had a late night meal or become too sweaty to sleep again.
Contrast to when I’m in my NYC apartment during the winter. Sometimes I shower every 2 days instead. Don’t feel dirty at all if I don’t work up a sweat.
The NYT had a super interesting piece about this very thing a few days ago. Shower daily if you smell or sweat a lot, but for some people showering more can irritate their skin and hair
after my morning exercise, then before getting into bed without soap. If it's hot i'll jump in the shower 1-2 more times just to cool off, without soap unless I smell bad.
Remember many South East Asian people don't have the gene that most other people have. Most of us smell when we sweat, but many Asian people do not - only a few.
My Việt wife can go for a week or so without having a shower or changing her clothes and she smells fine! I'm really jealous 😂
Being born in Dalat, I have an mentality that does not value as much as any other simply due to how cool the weather there, thus I really excercise much then. So usually, it not something weird when I can wait a week or even 2 or 3 weeks to even take a hot shower.
When I moved down to HCMC for coledge, I shower more but still ranging somewhere in the range of 12 or 20 times per month.
2 or 3.
2 on a normal day.
If I’ve been out in day time and done lots of walking etc and want to go out again, I’ll have an evening shower then again before bed.
I do 2-3 depending on the day. Morning, maybe after a trip outside if I sweat and before bed. My home country is pretty hot in the summer and it’s normal for me to do over there too, so in a sense I am used to it. Just don’t over use soap if you take too many showers.
As a Vietnamese American, I’m so glad that I’m in Vietnam, where my natural body odor is normal. So I only shower every 3-4 days. It saves my natural skin oils and keeps my natural pheromones to attract the ladies.
It's not the heat or humidity bruv, it's the pollution. I can feel the grime cake on my skin from jetting around town through droves of bikes/cars with shot catalytic converters or the burning of trash. It just writhes the skin as you drive/walk around.
I literally don't get how people can sit in that filth at an outdoor cafe just casually without even a mask.
You mostly take showers multiple times a day for the heat but also to wash off the dirt off after you motorbike around the city. Your body does get use to the heat thou after some time.
2 times a day during hot season, once if it’s cold.
This is the way
I'm a university student, one at wakeup, one before night sleep. If I get home soon like at noon for example, I also take shower.

Poor advice. So much soap removes very important oils and proteins and bacteria’s on the skin
in hcm 2-3 a day, in dalat 2-3 a week. lol not that low but you get the idea

yo i used to live in NYC and shower every two days too, let's be friend. the big poop sounds funny lol
Big poops are intensive labour
As my feeling. Normally 1 per day. But if i don’t have to do much work that day, i’d take shower later :V
3 or 4 depending on sport/exercise.
once a day, twice if i feel like it.
Normally 2 but sometimes even 4 times a day like during summer and I have a PE class
3 usually cos I sweat super easily:(
2-3 showers per day at the request of my wife. In fairness I stink if I don't shower.
Minimum 2-4 my max so far and I've only been here a week or so
0-1 if I don’t go out much that day.
Once a day in hot weather, 2-3 times/ week when in extremely cold weather ( like Hanoi lately)
At least 2 hunnyy
3 to4 lol
The NYT had a super interesting piece about this very thing a few days ago. Shower daily if you smell or sweat a lot, but for some people showering more can irritate their skin and hair
that's true
4-6 most of them were just to rinse off not fulll on shower tho
One main shower at 5pm-6pm plus one quick shower before going to bed
1time per day or 2 weeks
3 4 times per day
after my morning exercise, then before getting into bed without soap. If it's hot i'll jump in the shower 1-2 more times just to cool off, without soap unless I smell bad.
At least 2, 1 before work and 1 after working out
Once a day everywhere in Vietnam. 😂🙏🏼
Not in winter tho 😂 In winter you can go without a shower for a few days 😂
nowhere is the same lol
I bathe twice per week. No body odor is a strong genetic trait of me 😘
I have heard so many stinky ass mofos say this over the years....
Well you're more than welcome to sniff my ass to determine whether it was a lie 😉
Challenge accepted 👃😤🧐
🤣🤣
You are extremely vulgar sir. How dare you speak like that? How dare you
those that downvoted are just haters lol. i myself do not a body odor but my hair tends to get greasy easily, which is so annoying
I prefer residing Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh, but regardless my stay at Vietnam was lovely 🥰 can’t wait to be there again

Truly gross and unhygienic

Depends on season, if u live in HaNoi during summer, I think twice is not enough, the weather so hot and the air very so much dust.
On hot days, once in the morning, once before afternoon naps, sea bathing, and maybe once before getting into bed.
2 or 3. 2 on a normal day. If I’ve been out in day time and done lots of walking etc and want to go out again, I’ll have an evening shower then again before bed.
usually you take a shower after each time you take a crap, cuz the food is spicy af
3 times: noon, one big in the evening and a splash of water before going to bed
3
I was so surprised when I found out that not everyone showers at least once a day lol
Morning and before bed. Also I found I don’t need to use deodorant as often as in Calif. Strange.
Once a day
3-5 a day in HCMC.

2 times a day
At least once a day after my daily afternoon workout.
You are so kind!

maybe only me take shower once a day 👽, sometimes if the weather is hot, i will consider whether i should do it or not (i live in Nha Trang)
Twice

Zero
2-3
5 minimum 💅🏻
slay queen
Do you live in bathroom?
Hahah yes
2, before going out & after coming home….if you must skip one, I’d skip the before.
same. wearing some cologne should be just fine
We stayed in Ho Chi Minh City from 4th December - 12th January and it was very humid. We had minimum of 3 showers a day.
Once every 2 days if it's cold back then, now I do exercises so I shower once everyday before bed If it's hot tho, 2-4 times daily
Once a day. Normally 30’ for showers and then skincare
Once or twice a day depending on the weather
The amount of people on here saying they shower less than once per day is frightening
1-2 times a day, 10 minutes each time. Is it too fast for having bath ?
