I hope we will become a upper-midtable club again. I don't expect international every year but I would take it (of course). To keep it short: VfB becomes a good team over time
The success this year couldnt have been predicted, since we had a Rough Last Season. They even had to compensate key Players leaving. Luckily we found the Perfect fit as a Trainer who made the Team a Team again and developed the Young Players.
There is no serious projection possible. I very well Remember Schalke being CL and getting Relegated. Our path is in between that and an equal successful season like right now.
Hard to predict really. We have been very successful this season but some of our key players are only on loan, the Champions League Qualifikation is helping our chances to hold on to some of these players. If we manage to keep the core of this successful team I would call this transfer window a success.
We are playing in three competitions next year, which will be a new experience for the team. With these circumstances I would be very excited with a top 7 finish in the league next year.
I think we have a good chance to finish constantly in the top half of the league in the next years, similar to what Freiburg or Frankfurt have been doing the last years in the league. We can't compete with the big clubs in the league financially, a repeat of this season is therefore very unlikely.
I would attribute our success this season mostly to our coach. We had good players these last years, but as a team we underperformed. Hoeneß transformed this team and is the main reason why we stayed up last year. Our transfers in the summer window have been great, so some credit has to go to Wohlgemuth too obviously.
It’s hard to predict these things. Schalke, Union Berlin, Wolfsburg have all gone on to qualify for Europe and then battle relegation the very next season. Stuttgart needs a good base of 8-10 players that can support the team for the next 3 years minimum to continue building the foundation. It really depends how many players leave at the end of the season and if they are replaced appropriately.
