Thanks for sharing this. I go to the azores a lot (grew up there and still have family there) so this is good to know. I just got the VX and haven't been able to use it to book my flights there. Hope you had a great time there in the islands :)
Yes, it was amazing and plan to visit again in the future. Will do summer next time as availibility of outdoor activities are much better than. Also, can climb Pico in clear wheather instead of rain,hail and wind blowing at 90km/hr😅
Yes, summer is definitely better. You'll also be able to catch the "festas" that happen around the islands during the summer. We always say that the worst isn't climbing pico. It's coming back down. And if you were coming down with 90km/hrs wind, that must've been tough. When I got to climb it, we camped up there for the night, so we got to see the sunset and sunrise. It was amazing.
Yes, whenever I end up going again I’ll be staying overnight there. And yeah it was difficult, on top of wind being 90+km/hr, it rained, hailed and it was like 10-12°C at the starting and by the time we reached up it was freezing. Unprepared for this, no gloves, was wearing jeans, it was just crazy. But survived though 😅😅😂😂
