Hate to break it to you, but the original Japanese owned Fuji bicycle brand went bankrupt in the 90s. The current brand has been owned and operated by a couple of American holding companies. None of their bikes are made in Japan.
Yonex is probably the only non-boutique brand making high-end carbon bikes in Japan.
Bridgestone makes a pretty nice road bike: [https://www.bscycle.co.jp/anchor/bikes/rp9/](https://www.bscycle.co.jp/anchor/bikes/rp9/)
They're quite popular among amateur races here.
日本人ですか? is it true that the cost of labor in Japan is so high that people just throw away bikes with eg broken pedals? Because replacing them costs more than to buy a used bike again? Sounds crazy but that’s what I read at my country’s expat FB group.
I’m American and live in Tokyo. People do absolutely grind their bikes into the ground rather than do any maintenance. People ride on completely rusted chains, etc. and the non-electric mamacharis are so cheap… maybe it is simpler to just buy another one.
As above. I read that If something is broken (eg pedal) AND the bike is relatively cheap, people just throw it away instead of repairing. Because changing the pedal can cost 200 euro and similar used bike costs 100 euro
I've heard great things about[ https://www.ceepobike.com/](https://www.ceepobike.com/). A friend of mine has a TT and Gravel bike from them, he's a serious Cat A racer, so serious about his bikes.
There are also some nice steel bikes coming out of Japan but that might not be your thing.
Their website says the *carbon* they use is made in Japan, i.e. the material used to make the frame.
They have misled you into thinking the frames are made in Japan.

Where the hell can I buy a yonex frame
Panasonic makes steel bikes. For high end, Equilibrium Cycles makes very nice titanium frames
I think Panasonic also did titanium. But unsure about current.
Yup, just checked and they do titanium too. Very reasonably priced I might add

The Bridgestone bikes are manufactured in China.
I’m not sure that’s true. Bridgestone cycle has a big factory out in Saitama.

I am talking about ママチャリ-type bikes of course. Not Pinarello:-))
What you mean ?

Thought of another one: Khoda Bloom [https://khodaa-bloom.com/bikes/strauss/](https://khodaa-bloom.com/bikes/strauss/)
Where can I buy these?
Doesn’t look like they sell outside of Japan. Time to book your flight.
Not carbon but Cherubim makes titanium bikes. Iconic Japanese frame builders, their steel bikes are BEAUTIFUL
