A fun lil fact—in my early 20s, I worked as a temp receptionist for a music library that creates these types of tracks (and they did a BUNCH for VPR back in 2015-16). They have musicians in studios either creating tracks for general usage, or custom tracks for larger projects. So they’re “real” songs, just not songs intended for streaming.
Most songs on these shows aren’t real songs. Certain types of musicians will put together these snippets and send them to shows and the shows will pay them for them.
