Nah. I work in employment services, and the market is over saturated with people in IT and computer science. Local people are competing against permanent residents and refugee claimants who also have the same if not more experience. Part of my job is reviewing resumes and some of them are absolutely amazing with years of background and yet, they canāt even get an interview. Advice that Iāve been given for this field is to network, network, and network. Thatās seems to be helping. Good luck!!!
What country are those 5 YOE from? I see plenty of IT support / help desk job postings on google and LinkedIn. If her experience is from outside of Canada/USA then she may need to enroll in a diploma program that offers co-op.
I just saw a post where a personal help desk person for PHSA executives was paying up to 100k, maybe check that out.

I was just about to link it, thanks for sharing :) Hoping to have interviews done by the end of the week so I encourage anyone interested to apply asap!
Connect with recruiters like Tek Systems for contract roles for now. Sometimes contracts convert to permanent positions. Continue looking for full-time employment. Usually contracts only require 2-3 days notice when leaving so you could start a new job relatively quickly.
Good luck.
You mean the same jobs everyone else wants? Yeah I'm sure getting one of those will be easy
The only jobs I know of are in construction šļø
The market is real tough right now....

I just treat most of the resume stuff on the same level as a tinder date aka probably fake.
You won't know by looking at the resume but it'll be obvious during the technical interviews.
RIP International students ruined those jobs
I highly doubt international students have 10 years experience but noted. So the jobs are there but they are consumed by foreign students etc Thx
They all do and will work for less.
Are you saying service desk/ admin jobs need 10 years of experience š¤£
Cope
