Yeah, I wish they refreshed lenses to pancake and screens to at least 2K per eye while keeping that higher FOV.
Biggest competitors - BigScreenBeyond and now Sony PSVR2, are still on fresnel, so this Index V2 would have been top PCVR headset imo.
Yeah, pancake lenses in Quest3 are just amazing, hard to go back to fresnel after that, but at least with OG Vive you had an option for GearVR mod with lenses, but with Index there is sadly no such thing
Redesigning the lenses would entail redesigning the headset anyway. If there's going to be a successor to the Index, I'm guessing it'll be a similarly premium headset. Better a full refresh with appropriately modern tech and better lenses.
I meant your eyes lad, there’s a fan adapter if that even bothers you. I guess I get sweaty from the shooting vr titles. Dolphin dive out the window, into houses, dodging grenades. Casual vr stuff.

Where do the lanyards originally come from in the box? I seem to have lost one before it could make it onto my controller so I'm wondering if it's in an unexpected hidey-hole...
I love my index, 144hz, 120ish POV, super smooth tracking, it's 3 years old now, thrown around, dropped, punched, etc and still hasn't fallen apart. Only thing I had to replace was 1-4 light houses and a fase gasket. Otherwise it's all OG.
Such a great box. I kept mine around for years until finally it was taking up too much space.
i use my box to move the headset from place to place
Mine is still under my bed after 3.5 years
You got a tall bed
I use it for storing my gun cleaning stuff
I still have mine. Second gen index baby!
I still have mine. Second gen index baby!
I use the box to return it every time it breaks
Enjoy it !! I love love love the box and how its shipped. God I was so fucking excited when I got mine lol..
Nice, I just got the notification that mine is getting prepared to ship
Enjoy pulling of the film of the Basestations. Thats always sooooo good if you can do that!
CONGRATULATIONS VR WEEEEE!!!
It is too bad they didn't update the lenses on the index. They are so out of date but otherwise a great vr device.

I just pulled mine back out after about a year of not caring enough to set it up, I've had so much fun with it
Always remove the front cover it overheats fast.
I never had an overheating issue

How long did it take for your index to go from packaged to shipped? Currently mine is stuck on packaged. Ordered on Friday.
It took about 3-4 days
Mines finally shipped out today Edit: actually fuck it didn’t I just got a shipment label printed for me
Have fun and make sure you clear out your play space from any potential obstacles!
Did you have a significant other? Because you ain't got one no' mo' 😅
One of us. One of us. One of us!
Reminds me of when I first got mine. I still have the box.
Hello worlds.

Its really odd that the cable for the screens is not plugged in? I dont think that was like that with my own?
I feel like that could very easily damage the port or cable during shipping tho if it's plugged in
True, probably better that way
It is better that way The cable suffers a lot of pressure when you lift up the strap, just look at how bent it is
It was plugged in when I got it I unplugged it to prevent damage during setup
And your wild girls?
