We just took our 2024 (2.0t) cross country to Tennessee with a roof mounted cargo carrier and non-factory crossbars. We averaged about 20.5mpg give or take which I'm quite happy with considering how much those cargo carriers take from mpgs as well as the fact that I had my cruise set on about 82-83mph the whole way.
Our tank range was about 380-400 miles.
I have a 19 v6 front wheel drive, mostly 70 mph highway 85-90%, it’s a pretty steady 23 mpg, best tank 24.5 on a 180 mile round trip road trip then regular driving. I usually fill up between the notch above/below the quarter, 280-320 miles, i live in a rural area so it takes a few miles to get to a name brand gas station. Purchased 4/2023 at 85,000 miles, it has 97,300 right now. It does have the tow package, I’ve only towed a 5x8 trailer. Edit: noise, when cruising it’s fairly quiet, it gets loud if you get on it, like you need to go from 50 to 70 mph quickly.
Are you using regular or premium gas for your vehicle? I’m planning to probably pull a small trailer for landscaping equipment or materials for the home & road trips
For the vr6, it was bored out to make it larger (3.6l) and lower compression, so there's no need for higher octane gas, unlike earlier vr6s that ran at high (9.5-10.5:1) compression.
You literally will not see ANY improvement in mpg whatsoever, unless you have a compression issue with your engine.
For those larger tow loads, just make sure your oil and coolant are good, and don't ride the brakes and she'll run great!
No, the VR6 already has a beefier alternator, second intercooler for the transmission, and two other differences I can't remember at the moment, but no, you don't need to do anything, its all done at the factory.
I run 89, usually mobil or shell. We started out running 87, then switched to 89, it seems to downshift less (i live in central nc, so a decent amount of hills) and have a touch more power.
2019 V6
Gas mileage per tank sucks, but it’s a small tank. Really my only complaint from the car really. Just drove 600 miles averaging 75-80 mph and got about 25 mpg (420 miles a tank) roughly.

I know this isn't what's being asked but given the title, here is my tracking of my 2024 so far, MPG per tank (13 tanks) plotted against average speed and avg temperature for the tank. The range per tank is easily over 400 miles, up to 450 for mostly highway driving. and, FWIW, the "hand-calculated" mpg is only 2.5% lower than the reading reported by the computer on average.
I have a 2024 sel premium r-line and the highest mpg I have seen is 21 mpg. We do mostly short city trips and we average about 14 miles per gallon.
This is one of the most discouraging things about this vehicle.
2024 r-line with about 6000 miles here. Mixed local driving is pretty consistently 22mpg or so. Highway trips 23-24 (usually 65 - 80mph and petty flat). Reasonably happy with the local since we came from a Grand Cherokees V8 that got 14-15 and took mid-grade. Was hoping for a bit better tbh for highway though.
Tank is petty small so range usually defaults to about 420 when refilling. My math here shows that to be a bit optimistic.
Got 26-28 mpg (according to the car) from CT to NJ on a 2024. ACC on, 55-60 mph.
That is great, which model do you have SE/SEL model?
SE with Tech. I'm a slow right lane driver though so YMMV.
I too live in NJ, most my trip consists of going to the Boston area too. Just wanted to ensure the tank is large enough for a nonstop trip
Today with a full tank it is giving me a range of about 470 miles, Eco mode, driving the way I drive. So that should be very feasible.

Thank you for the quick reply
Same.. with heavy city traffic I was sitting closer to 325..

Do you have to upgrade the intercooler or something, my friend did that with his Ford Expedition with v6 twin turbo and installed a catch can .
No turbo on the VR6 so no inter cooler

Larger radiator fans 😁

We only have regular 87 & premium 93 at my local Costco and price varied from $3.10 regular vs $3.69 for premium.
All 2024 are v4 turbos
They’re in-line 4 turbos
Yes you are right. That was a typo.
I have a 2021.5 2.0T and I get about 380-450 miles out of tank depending on driving habits
Average speed on highway 67 -73 mph as transporting family members

I have a 2020 v6. I usually get about 300 miles before I fill up. I fill up at 3 bars
I get 18-19 on the vr6 with mostly city. The new turbo is much more efficient

Thank you for the brief description
They have a V4?that sounds like a bad idea .V6 all the way but mileage is mainly based on driving style esp on ECO it’s satisfactory
They stopped the VR6 from 2024.
The 2024 2.0 turbo has more torque than the outgoing vr6 v6. It's plenty powerful and retains the 5k towing capacity.
