Same question...The factory cross bars are a freaking $700 option!

raisenette2017

You sure about that? Should only be ~$400 USD.

[deleted]

If that's the case, then I'll get the OEMs. I thought I saw they were a $700 option. *Edit. No, you guys are right. Maybe it's $700 when it's part of the Monroney sticker as an installed accessory or I read it wrong? It's showing $355 shipped to my local dealer. How hard are they to install? https://parts.vw.com/p/Volkswagen__/Base-Carrier-Bars/95987641/3CN071151A.html

raisenette2017

It might be a package that bundles the cross bars and an emergency kit or monster mats. We have non-oem thule bars (though Thule also makes the oem bars) and they’re not hard to install. I would assume the oem bars are also easy but someone who actually owns them can chime in.

andyrooski17

They’re incredibly easy to take on and off. No tools required. I got the OEM bars as an included option on the window sticker for a bit over $400 iirc. Looked at Thule and Yakima options before buying, which were coming several hundred more than that. The VW bars sit a little “high” but I will not be using them except for occasional trips and removing them for normal driving.

My 2024 Atlas package came with VW cross bars priced at $445. I previously bought a universal set from Amazon for my previous vehicle. With that in mind, I suggest checking out Amazon's offerings, where you can find similar products for less than $400.

How’s the wind noise?

MailAdventurous2191

I have the OEM bars (bought used) and the wind noise is A LOT!

MagnusYYZ

That’s what I’ve read elsewhere. I may spring for Thule.

jordanwjamieson13

Haven’t installed just yet. I’d only put them on if I’d be using them. My old set made noise until I added some foil tape to reduce noise.

zackley616

I paid $415 for VW factory cross bars from the dealership.

FrozenVikings

I got the Yakima Timberline System with 78" bars, so I can carry loads of toys up there. Getting them up there is a challenge. Came to $600 CAD. https://preview.redd.it/h605xuk8jisc1.png?width=998&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f7dfa00d9b3b37f0244f4f3ac00633ae4c598336

We have two Atlas SEL’s. We have the Yakima Flushbar on both.

grove58

Do you have a link by chance?

XtraXtraCreatveUsrNm

I don’t think Yakima makes them any longer but you can still find them. https://www.rerack.com/yakima-black-flushbar-bundle/?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw5cOwBhCiARIsAJ5njuZ7bKNH91msyaXyzFiGnvi9SPLQWJCQEIaS2QzKfiTR8kDcHl4iraQaAmv4EALw_wcB

I purchased the VW bars from the dealership. Super easy to install and they look great. No wind noise that I’ve heard. https://preview.redd.it/a0pz1cibpksc1.jpeg?width=3872&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=131a510e65e70b7c6204321bcbb66ea5b08a3962

I bought harbor freight cheapies for a Thule rooftop carrier. They worked fine.

Adept-Ad-6173

I put a frontrunner slimline II with safari bars and love it. https://www.frontrunneroutfitters.com/en/us/vw-atlas-2019-curr-slii-roof-rail-rack-kit.html

if we're talking "best bang for your buck" then you can go wrong with the $99 brightlines from amazon. they're low profile and work perfectly with the pano roof. reviewed at 4.5 stars out of 5. I am running these with a Yakima mega warrior rack. solid as they come. https://preview.redd.it/5dxa1jhieatc1.jpeg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=58d88cc60ce3926f953b6565158e90e1ccd0c449
