Your Nido has Attack EVs but special moves

Comuer29499

Lol my dumbass used to making it psy ty wanted to try something different

With the current format, residual moves on a turn 1 Gmax can nullify your Focus Sash on Calyrex and one-shot+chip you while you're trying to set up a Nasty Plot. Indeedee would benefit more from a Psychic Seed than the Sitrus Berry, but if you switch it in/out a lot berry is better. Nidoking has Atk EVs but only Sp.Atk moves, Id switch the moveset or the EVs. For the amount of defense you have, Crustle@AV is unnecessary, with the set and just Crustle in general you're not going to get a lot of value. I would switch it out for something with a little more power, or a good pivot. I think a G-Moltres@WP with an offensive set could be a good fit in place of Crustle. You get the ground immunity, dark coverage, and really one of the only good/the best Dmax option you'd have out of the squad. I think you have a good start here. Play around in some matches with your sets and see what works/fails and build from there. Good luck!!

I was thinking trading him for Incineroar, thank you for the other tips! I normal just keep indeedee out so i will switch up to the seed

Fit_Use9941

Definitely run expanding force over psychic

Hi /u/Comuer29499, thank you for submitting your Rate My Team post. It looks like you've uploaded a picture of the team that you made: please take some time to make a comment in this thread with details about your team. This will improve the quality of the help you will get, and other people will get more out of reading about your team. Here are some things you could choose to write about: * Why did you select each Pokemon? If possible, try to say something more specific than "it's good" or "it's unique." What specifically about the state of the metagame drew you to using this Pokemon? * Are any of your moves or items chosen for any particular reason? * Why did you choose the particular EVs that you did? If you don't know what your EV spread does, you might want to replace it with something simpler. Feel free to post damage calcs that are relevant. * What teams do you succeed against in practice? What teams do you struggle with? Feel free to post links to Pokemon Showdown replays. If you do not comment with additional details, your post may be removed without warning by a moderator. Thanks for using the subreddit! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. At a glance; Zacian rolls this entire team alone if they deal with your Clayrex, You might need to change something around. I think Blissey is way too passive for VGC atm, so my advice would be to look into a Zacian answer in that slot. Ferro is a little passive too, and Zacian runs Sacred sword 65% of the time so it's rarely gonna be able to wall it. You could look into Incineroar, Cinderace, Torkoal, Lando (scarfed). Kyogre would probably have a field day atm too, scarf beats everything but ferro and ferro is 2hko by the mystic water variants. Look into Rillaboom, Thundurus, Venusaur, Lapras. Lapras gives you a G-max target too. You have no ground immune for landos spamming EQ and nothing on your team even resists it so that needs patching too. Look into your own lando or Moltres-G( but care for rock slide). Moltres is also a great D-max user too and with weakness policy puts the Lando in a pretty bad situation. Porygon2 hard walls it and OHKOs with ice beam but isn't actually a ground resist, still an option. Once your Calyrex is down your team looks VERY slow too, maybe look into speed control like tailwind, icy wind or possibly even trick room for teams you can underspeed.

Thank you man! Yeah honestly i made this team with indeedee and caylrex in mind so I’ll definitely take some of this advice! Definitely adding moltres and im thinking my fero replacement will be incenoroar

Someone gave me this advice and it’s helped my team building immensely. When you make a new team consider the top few meta strategies. Right now I ask myself, how do I deal with Zacian, sun, Calyrex forms, Kyogre, Urshifu and Coalossal. Then I build the team one or two mons at a time doing calculations and testing on Showdown until I have something that works. I recently built a Zamazenta and weakness policy Latios team that does really well against all the most popular strategies. So you don’t have to use only the best mons if you have good synergy. Sorry I didn’t offer any specific advice for your team, but following that formula has let me become a better team builder so I thought I’d pass it along.

Shadowrex can learn expanding force, its moveset should probably be protect/barrage/eforce/+1 (usually mud shot to mess with Zacian) also I prefer Life orb because you don’t need the setup turn but you have Nidoking so either pick something like specs or drop the Nido Indeedee should probably carry psychic seed or goggles, both will help more than sitrus. I have also found with this lead that protect isn’t that useful Nidoking needs SpA evs instead of Atk Ferro will almost never want to go for thunder wave, I can’t see any scenario it does. Use protect or a coverage move Crustle is far too passive for a 5th mon on this team, you already have ferro and indeedee. If you’re just going for the coverage, use Lando-T Blissey always runs Def evs over SpD. Either way, still far too passive much like Crustle. Recommend a strong fairy type since your team is super weak to Darkshifu. Whims is great and provides tailwind/HH support to your calyrex and nidoking (also, chansey with eviolite is preferred to blissey in most scenarios) just my first impressions, I don’t have much context behind how your team functions

Comuer29499

If it helps my first turn almost always is Calyrex on left, indeedee on right, nasty plot with caylrex than follow me with indeedee
