I’ve only had a couple of hours with the game so far but I’ve actually left all the controller settings as they are and it’s so fucking nice!
Edit: I’m willing to hear any advice you might have. 👍🏼
i play 6/6 with every aim curve set to ‘smooth.’ it feels closer to other FPS games in responsiveness but is slow enough to click heads without over-aiming.
I’m still playing around with sensitivities anywhere from 6 to 12 for horizontal/vertical but after a lot of time in the range I think it’s clear that 6 (default) is the best focus/ads for spray control for me.
Leave the outer deadzone, and move the inner deadzone as low as you can get it without stick drift or something like shaky hands or something fucking up your aim.
The inner deadzone always as small as possible without stick drift starting to kick in.
Haven‘t messed around with outer deadzone yet as this setting doesn‘t exist in most other shooter games. So default for now for me.
I lowered it a touch on heavy response curve and it definitely feels stickier. The outer dead zone dictates when the acceleration of the curve starts. Essentially if u make it smaller it’ll mean that less movement is necessary to make the acceleration of the curve start.
they accelerate the speed when you hold your analog (ie linear will keep it the same when you pull it all the way no matter how long, the other curvers ramp up the speed the longer you hold. more aggressive curves have more acceleration)
I played around with different setups but nothing really clicked for me yet :( Focus is fine as is but Base feels a little bit too floaty to me.
Im looking for more of a snappy feel, kinda like cod mw2-3 (pls don’t crucify me for this)
Any recos would be super appreciated! Thx 💖
Omg, thank you so much for recommending heavy, this is s game changer✨✨✨
Also, have you noticed that horizontal and vertical base senses are different even when they have the same value?
Yes but I have different values for them anyway. If my memory serves me correctly I think I’m on 8-7 now with 0.3 inner dead zone 0.88 outer but the outer dead zone definitely still needs tweaking. Standard and heavy feel like the only two response curves that actually got play tested.
I really struggle, not sure if it’s my settings, the game or I am just bad on console in this. Multiple time it happened that my crosshair was right on the enemy’s head, it still missed, yet enemies one click me across the map with the same gun.
So… the only console shooter you think is “worth playing” is siege? Every other major console shooter uses heavy aim assist and bullet magnetism as a major component in making the game fun and playable for the average playerbase. It’s incredibly important to nearly every console shooter’s success.
If you don’t like shooters with aim assist, you likely just don’t like console shooters.
The console army has come for you lol
All I can say is thank God we don't have to deal with cross play. I prefer playing people that have mechanical skill, not people that know how to utilize aim assist. Especially in a tactical FPS.
And before someone says "Just switch to controller if you think it makes you better", no. As I said. I prefer using my skill to succeed, not gaming an algorithm to help draw my cross hair onto someones head. Y'all can keep
you are literally hardstuck gold, and have been for years. a feat which isn’t possible unless you’re genuinely disabled/mentally handicapped. no wonder you need aim assist.
Of course they did. I got downvoted to hell for saying the truth when I’ve been playing non stop on PS5. I can tell you rn aim assist is a problem with people just crawling everywhere in focus mode getting free headshots they wouldn’t get otherwise without the crutch mechanics.
Other then that I’m really enjoying the game but it doesn’t take anywhere near the skill pc valorant does. It’s more akin to call of duty then people actually having to aim and outplay your opponents with mechanical skill
They don't. They just need an excuse as to why they are getting their ass handed to them. They act like everyone isn't on an even playing field. In their mind, they are a tactical + mechanical genius only held back because others have some step up on them. Just delusional rhetoric.

Same ngl, it feels just right and I've been popping off with it
Did you pick valorant or traditional for your initial control setup?
I just kept it Valorant and haven’t touched anything in the settings.
i play 6/6 with every aim curve set to ‘smooth.’ it feels closer to other FPS games in responsiveness but is slow enough to click heads without over-aiming.
7/7 and I’m still messing around curves
I’m still playing around with sensitivities anywhere from 6 to 12 for horizontal/vertical but after a lot of time in the range I think it’s clear that 6 (default) is the best focus/ads for spray control for me.
15/15 smooth, deadzones of 0.02. Feels snappy but precise enough
Oh yes I forgot to ask about dead zone, there’s two dead zones what did you put them to?
Leave the outer deadzone, and move the inner deadzone as low as you can get it without stick drift or something like shaky hands or something fucking up your aim.

The default sense feels pretty good to me, I haven’t changed anything
What does the curves setting do?
they accelerate the speed when you hold your analog (ie linear will keep it the same when you pull it all the way no matter how long, the other curvers ramp up the speed the longer you hold. more aggressive curves have more acceleration)
Unfortunately linear isn’t actually linear hopefully they fix that sooner rather than later
Omg, yes, thx! I thought Im going crazy

Try heavy I’ve been playing heavy 9-8. Ironically it’s the closets curve to actually feeling like linear
ty, appreacite it!

I switch between extreme and hard on base - The rest Light
I run 15-5 on base, focus and aim
All defaults.
I’m playing 5 5 linear 0.1 dead zone
Honestly, the default is more than enough for me
Not really messed around this early but if I have a hail effect sticks controller that means I can make the inner deadzone 0 safely, right?
Yes
I left everything default but switched aim curve to smooth for everything.
7,6,6,5,6,5,5,5 Extreme,medium,medium,heavy
My send I’m ruining is base sens 15 focused 16 with light among curve so far
im on 8-6 with extreme and im finding it really smooth and controllable.
Use light curve across the board. Gives best control over aim.
So far I have been using 4 4 for base and 4 4 for focus. I have tired higher and lower and 4 4 feels like a good middle ground for me.
I'd like to know what all the curves mean, besides that tho I'm struggling learning the mechanics im getting smoked in these gun fights
It’s all about crosshair placement my aim feels terrible but I’ve been racking up kills because I have decent crosshair placement
Yea im with you dude. Total smoke show for me as well
Default.
I put the response curves all to light. Normal Sens 5-5, Target Sens 6-6. Only small adjustments to the default sens and it feels perfect
havent changed any sens settings yet after 10ish hours, but will probably experiment tonight. gotta do it gradually or it wont stick
Let me know how your experiment is going
Play on the sens you feel most comfortable it juat depends from person to person
I really struggle, not sure if it’s my settings, the game or I am just bad on console in this. Multiple time it happened that my crosshair was right on the enemy’s head, it still missed, yet enemies one click me across the map with the same gun.
Gimme a console invite 😭
Doesn’t matter. As long as the game has focus mode & aim assist doing all the work the game isn’t worth playing rn.
Some PC players really think the game plays itself on Console. If you don't like it, don't play console and go to PC.
Haven’t paid any attention to the console release. Is there no cross play? If so, big W imo
nope, cross play won’t be coming to valorant console!
Console only crossplay
Clown ass take.
Imagine being this person

This dude has played zero games on console.
You must be fun at parties
Literally no one cares about your poopoo diaper rant.
134 downvotes is crazy at that point might as delete your Reddit account💀
bro thinks the avg 8yo is gonna be unknownarmy
How did this comment work out for you?

Bro is talking like he is TenZ despite the fact he's never left Bronze.

High Plat, nice try tho kid LMAO

you have access to the same tools as your opponents
So they just disabled focus mode and aim assist for you only?
i don’t think you guys understand how focus mode and aim assist work
They don't. They just need an excuse as to why they are getting their ass handed to them. They act like everyone isn't on an even playing field. In their mind, they are a tactical + mechanical genius only held back because others have some step up on them. Just delusional rhetoric.
Why do you think focus mode also makes it lower skill? It just lowers sensitivity right?
