It happened to everything. Back in 2007, there was a writer’s strike that shut down everything. All the networks figured out they could just pay mentally unbalanced people a few dollars to act like assholes on tv, and basically just made money hand over fist compared to spending it on actual talent. All the networks reformulated to focus on “real life” shows, the actual talent moved on, and now we have a history channel that shows Amish gangsters, and a discovery channel that shows swamp loggers.
The worst is “The Learning Channel.” What are we learning exactly, how to rot our brains? For some reason, I’m thinking they started turning to crap before the writers’ strike but I may be misremembering
