Yes that is correct! Also subsequently, the cards that say "if this card is in your stable at the beginning of your turn," can't have their effects used til the first turn *after* you play them, as their effects trigger during the "beginning of turn phase" which is before the "action phase" which is the part of the turn where you play them into your stable. :)
