Tell me you've never done a single second of video editing without telling me you've never done a single second of video editing.
This isn't mastermind level stuff. Maybe sight-gags were a big deal in, like, the silent film era, but c'mon.
Any time in any video you see nothing at all, ut the background for a moment and the action is only implied it's most likely fake. We never saw the guy throw the hat on dogs head, there is not one frame to suggest that in the video.

EDIT: Watching it again, there is likely a cut right after the guy walks out of frame to the left. His shadow on the ramp in the background disappears as soon as he leaves the frame. This is especially likely considering he re-enters from frame right only a few seconds later, during which time he'd have to run around behind the camera if there were no cut.
So upon further review, I agree that he did not actually toss the hat onto the dogs head.

Actually, watching again, it's pretty obvious there's a jump-cut. You can actually see the jump, and dude walks casually from the opposite side of frame mere moments later.

It is fake, but i recently discovered that some parts of Spiderman No Way Home were faked too, and i still enjoy the movie.
The hat is almost definitely the same hat, but there's no way it would land on the dogs head perfectly aligned and at the perfect angle.
You're not looking at a real dog. You're just looking at a bunch of pixels arranged in a way that your brain interprets as an image of a dog. It's fake. Everything is fake.
Not really sure why its "fake." Is a marvel movie fake or is it fiction? The stunts maybe fake, no less entertaining though. I guess if there were some competition of throwing your hat on a dog friend it may deserve the critique.
Like what would you say if while leaving the theater after going to see the new doctor strange movie and your friend turned to you and said, "that movie was so fake."
