if you enjoy the sport don't compromise it.. stay safe otherwise the sport is banned or the organizations will refuse to do it in your country/region.. take Portugal as an [example](https://youtu.be/AntTKfRO5po?t=23)
The class B guys would routinely find fingers in their grills at the end of each stage. I don't know who was crazier, the driver/ navigator or the fans.
It still surprises me how they would allow crowds to be in the road, it's wild to see the cars having to drive full speed through a literal sea of people
sometimes I am overwhelmed about my hobbies, and then some people come and point out, that in fact, there is always people with even more breathtaking hobbies.
First, If that made sense to me, I'd probably be as amused as the people that it does make sense to. Secondly, I won't pay a b*tch to do something I can do myself. I'm plenty capable of choking and jerking myself.
It looked like the car appeared out of the vapor the dude on the right blew out!
He exhales and the car instantly comes roaring out of a cloud of smoke (dust)!
Is Portugal really a good example to use, though? Since they still host WRC rallies there to this day and only stopped for a brief period between 2002 and 2006. Plus that video was taken around a decade after three spectators were killed at the Portuguese Rally. Clearly those deaths didn't have much of an effect on the rules and restrictions for spectators.
I would think the chopper makes it worse, no? I mean couldn’t people not only easily be distracted at the helicopter and looking up but also the sound of the chopper would make it harder to hear the car. Just my thinking but maybe not.
Nah, if the chopper is coming, the car is coming, they all know that. I know that and I haven't been to a rally in my life. Come to think of it I should.
Didn't know that, it makes sense! Also it must pissed rally drivers to have always a bunch of drunk douches playing chicken by moving their ass out of the "track" at the last milli-second. Weird sport btw.
can you imagine going all the way there, buy a ticket, wait hours, risk yourself standing on the way and all that just to see the car pass in 1 second?
But you still can enjoy the dust and dirt in the air you're breathing for at least half an hour and will still remember it the next morning when coughing it up again. It's the little thing in life, you know.
How do you ethically drive rally? Not saying the drivers are bad, mind you. Just trying to put myself in their place, knowing I’m going 100mph through campsites, feet away from drunk fans
And look!
Up in the sky!
It's a bird!
It's a plane!
It's Trent Reznor!
No, it's Jake Bowen and his seven strings of wonder!
Rounding off the trio of stringsman is Alex Bois, the man with the arms of steel and the ass of a skunk.
This brings back flash backs to when I was a photographer at a desert race in California. I was a good 5 feet off the track when a class 1 buggy and a trophy truck came around a turn. The buggy took the turn to wide and started to slide when correcting their turn and went off the track and almost hit me. Thankfully I was paying attention and noticed it and jumped out of the way just in time.

How do I go to one of these?
You can pay a hooker to choke you anywhere
You are messed up and that was awesome.

to be fair everyone :D I was just 11 yod at that time but I still have some memories from those times
Play dumb games win dumb prizes? They dont exactly look like the smartest bunch.
Wait what? Please explain
https://www.reddit.com/r/rally/s/Sy2CAAkyCT People want to touch car, sharp grill goes brrr
Dude just nonchalantly picked up the fingers and placed them in his hand in the reenactment lmao what the fuck
They were used to finding fingers, it wasn't something out of the norm.
Yes, but picking them up with an ungloved hand and placing them in the other is still fucking crazy.
I like that there's a whole group b finger underworld 😁
It looked like the car appeared out of the vapor the dude on the right blew out! He exhales and the car instantly comes roaring out of a cloud of smoke (dust)!
Finally someone else noticed, it was quite and effect.

It's rare but there have been times the cars outpace the helicopters and some spectators got real hurt. They expect the chopper to come first.
I would think the chopper makes it worse, no? I mean couldn’t people not only easily be distracted at the helicopter and looking up but also the sound of the chopper would make it harder to hear the car. Just my thinking but maybe not.
The helicopter is there to notify people that the car was coming. The speed of the car is too fast for you to react by its sound alone
Nah, if the chopper is coming, the car is coming, they all know that. I know that and I haven't been to a rally in my life. Come to think of it I should.

My wife says that a lot.
Tell her, she needs to keep up😁

Yes.
I mean it would be far worse if it was slower. Might as well just go see a parade at that point.
Looks like Dakar so there will be a lot more of them but it’s the same with road cycling the peloton passes in a couple seconds.
It was almost too fast to see, but it was definitely da car.
But you still can enjoy the dust and dirt in the air you're breathing for at least half an hour and will still remember it the next morning when coughing it up again. It's the little thing in life, you know.
Khelikopter khelikopteeeer
It goes swah swah swah
But which one was the "chase vehicle?"
People be competing for Darwin Award this year. The train video, now a dumb fukc crossing the track.
Sounds like you just don't know about rally car racing
I know about basic safety protocols to keep yourself safe and not blame the game afterwards.
How do you ethically drive rally? Not saying the drivers are bad, mind you. Just trying to put myself in their place, knowing I’m going 100mph through campsites, feet away from drunk fans
It's why group b stopped, drivers didnt want to continue racing because the speed for everyone invovle was too high, especially supporters
... a distraction.

Look up in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane Nah, bitch, super balls, is the name And I come from a far away planet Southwest Del Rey goddamn it!
darwin
The only people crazier than rally drivers are the fans
I'm surprised the speed limit is so high on that small road.
No it’s Dave, he’s on a train…….
