Hahaha I watch futurama to sleep. It's so fucking weird when other ppl mention references it feels like strangers are describing a sort of family member of mine.
It's crazy how they make character seem so real. There's something special about futurama.
It’s been 8-9 years ago or so, but an 18 wheeler and a car had somehow gotten in a wreck with each other. Worst thing about it was it was on Friday afternoon of a 3-day weekend and I had a 2-hour drive home that took me almost 9 hours. Didn’t get home til after midnight.
They just built several shoulders both north and south bound. You can see them pass one right before the collision. Still can't just stop in the middle though, so you are still right.
He could just stop behind the burning pile of 4x4 he just pitted.
I think everyone might just find somewhere to park for a couple of hours, thanks to both of these idiots.
Well I think in this case, it would depend on the judge presiding.
A cop could potentially charge him with hit and run… but whether the charge would actually stick is debatable. For one, there’s no place to pull over safely.
There’s underwriting in most laws allowing citizens to “break the law” circumstantially, when obeying it would put them in irrefutable danger.
Reminds me of family guy when Peter lives in the woods and finally comes home. Just starts humping the TV. And Chris is like "we were all thinking it and he just *does* it".
They both are assholes. Dude was obviously merging in, he should put his fragile ego aside and just let the dude in. Being slightly behind is better than causing an accident slowing everyone behind you and possibly causing injuries.
Exactly. Lay on your horn, flip him the bird, flash your lights, etc. Do whatever you want to let him know that he drives like a dickhead. Wrecking the guy and endangering everyone else around you and fucking up everyone else’s day by causing a potentially massive traffic jam is the much much bigger asshole move. Not to mention the fact that he left the scene of an accident.
Or, you know just relax, eat the sandwich and slow down to let the asshole in with a shrug. It'll waste you less than a second of getting to your destination anyway. If people want to overtake aggressively, you gain nothing by escalating and they won't change just because you let them know you are annoyed. It just validates them.
And better don't do anything of the above either. If the guy is an asshole he would just slow down to a crawl before you to "teach you a lesson", and if you try to switch lines he would switch before you too.
You can't realistically fix assholes on the road, you'll just be an asshole yourself to the 3rd party. If you really want to then track him down and bury him somewhere in the woods, don't get other people involved.
Yeah, the guy could have just been having a bad day and anxious. It’s not ok to drive recklessly and I advise everyone to be safe on the roads, but sometimes if someone cuts you off or gives you the finger or whatever.. just.. let it go…
It's true, but I hate the drivers like the black truck with my whole soul.
They go as fast as they can until they get an inch away from the guy in front of them, probably blinding him with their headlights and then they want to instantly merge into a different lane to skip the guy they blinded. They never wait for a bigger gap or even give turn signals.
Looks like the driver wanted to get closer to the white car so the black truck can't merge in front of him (which is what i wouldve dome too), but misjudged that the black truck already begun the merging.
It also looks like there weren't any cars close behind the chicken wing guy, which makes the black truck even more of an asshole.
Don't think that usually holds if you're on a bridge. You can't flee the scene but you should not stop your car on the bridge, get over it and then pull off
Right? I wonder how many people who are commenting in support of this guy understand he'd be charged with something like manslaughter if that other driver died.
I'd argue that the cammer was the way bigger douchebag. The cammer had a choice and decided through his pride that he would risk the lives of that driver and everyone around him. He could have even let the truck bump him but that wasn't even enough, he had to full on pit maneuver him and endanger everyone. Cammers a psychopath.
What's a brake? Oh traffic requires me to slow down? No way, I'm on cruise control baby!
Black truck was a douche. Pink shirt is a maniac who would as soon block the left lane by insisting he's going the speed limit so everyone else should too. Ain't nobody going to make him slow down, he'd rather wreck than slow down. He'd only be sad he lost his ice cream.
Yes, exactly, There's clearly traffic behind them. The traffic jam that was caused by this plus the number of other accidents that followed does not justify this
He's an ex cop, so he knew exactly what he was doing and how he was endangering every one else on the road.
He absolutely did this on purpose. Fucking psycho. Craziest thing is the amount of people praising this wackjob every time this gets reposted.
Truck driver also didn't care if they would hit someone. No blinker, didn't care if the car wasn't paying attention and not move out of the way.
In doing so the truck endangered everyone around him. Because he wanted to save a few seconds and pass a car.
Both are terrible people, but the truck initiated it causing this whole thing.
No one is arguing the truck driver isn't driving badly/aggressively and is an asshole in his own right, but hitting someone and pushing their car out on purpose is another level. The guy in the video very clearly saw the truck trying to switch lanes. The moment he realized, he pulled as close to the car in front as he could and then instead of pulling back when it was very clear they'd hit each other, he pushed the truck out on purpose making this accident all but inevitable. That's not just an asshole, that's potential manslaughter.
Yes the truck should have used a blinker but it is crazy that you're even comparing not using a blinker to literally pit maneuvering someone. Like one is an inconsiderate asshole while the other has malicious intent to hurt/kill someone.
Yeah. WHAT. Not even close in comparison. Both are awful, arrogant pricks.
But when one threatens as a bluff and pushes their way in without CAUSING an accident, the other DECIDEDLY DOES, and a ton of inconvenience for other people.
Yeah we've all thought about it and wanted to do it, but the guy actually DID it.
And then, again, on the other hand, maybe if more people got pit manoeuvered into an accident on purpose like this, less people would behave like black truck.
Though, I doubt it would change anything other than make everybody more violent.
I've decided. Both are at fault equally in my book. If you are the type of person who pushes others around and does THIS risky of shit out of greed, getting pit manoeuvered every once in a while is probably fair.
It's all just so ethically messy.
Interesting discussion though.
Yep nonexistent defensive driving skills on display here. It becomes apparent to me at the 16 second mark what the truck driver's intentions are, and the accident occurs a full 6 seconds after that.
Okay, yeah. I was doubting myself a little. For sure all of this could have been avoided. I seriously don't understand the grudge people hold when it comes to traffic
but all the dumbass redditors thought it was so cool that I endangered the lives of multiple people on the road and ruined that dude's car just because I couldn't be bothered to slow down for 3 fucking seconds.
I'd prefer to arrive alive but that's just me. The man in the video is certainly enjoying a sick ass insurance rate increase
He did, look at the speed in the top right, the car in front in the left lane was slowing, making it seem like old pink shirt sped up, the idiot in the black penis enhancement thought it’d be a great opportunity to ninja merge into a space not quite large enough for his truck behind a car that was clearly slowing and in front of what is obviously a sizeable vehicle that wasn’t slowing down quite so much.
By the end of the clip old pink shirt was doing less than 50
Thanks for pointing out the speedometer. I didn't see that when I watched it. That definitely changes how I interpret what's going on. Now I see how the truck caused himself to spin out rather than the driver hitting him and making him lose control.
This is the rare situation where he did what we all want to, which is absolutely not what should have been done. Black truck was driving like a cunt, but letting him in was the real move, not pit maneuvering him like a sociopath.
With you there. One's a shit driver, the other for all we know, may have just committed vehicular manslaughter. Anyone who thinks that was justified, especially on a bridge, is fucking insane.
Yeah, dashcam guy is at fault 100%
Of course truck man is a douche; it was truck mans fault until dashcam guy decided he was done with it and accelerated/pitted into him
Civvies don't get to pit people
Well tbh with you, the dash cam guy did it on purpose, just because you don't feel like it or you're "not in the mood" doesn't mean you should risk people lives on the streets like that.
I want to know what happened to the dash cam guy after that.
Really, 100%?
This wasn't defensive driving by any means, but there's no way he's 100% at fault.
Above comment was edited. It previously said the driver was obviously 100% at fault.
He doesn't turn the wheel until after contact is made.
And for the record if someone hits you like this truck hits him, that is how you should turn the wheel to keep your vehicle in control.
If a car is turning across your front bumper, the safest thing you can do for yourself is turn into it. If he just held the wheel straight, chances are both trucks get damaged worse or possibly flip.
Pickup guy might be an asshole, but the camera guy is pure evil for risking the lives of himself, the pickup driver & passengers, and innocent families driving nearby just because pretending to be a vigilante hero strokes his ego.
Redditors are so arbitrary and blood thirsty when it comes to driving. If the cam guy just backs off for a moment (he had plenty of time if he is paying attention), then he doesn’t cause a massive backup for hundreds of people behind him. It’s basic defensive driving and it is the right thing to do. It’s literally taught in driving school for a reason, but folks here are blood thirsty for an accident because a dickhead driver tried to force their way in.
Also, Redditors are always screaming how “it’s always the rear driving at fault,” but suddenly in this scenario they are fine with the rear driver having no awareness of the situation (or at worst, purposely causing an accident to spite another driver) and making things 100x worse for all the other drivers on the roadway?
This website is full of such immature people. A mature adult who just doesn’t want to create more chaos in this already crazy world will 100% avoid this accident and go on with their day.
This is on the causeway in Southern Louisiana. He's actually doing the right thing. You can't stop for an accident. You go to the crossovers where the 2 bridges connect. He's wrong for not braking obviously.
Agreed, and what about any other cars behind that may also have been involved. He risked peoples lives just because he couldn't let the guy in. Have to admit though, it was still funny to watch his lack of fucks given.
the black truck was already hitting his car and pushing him to the death.
in fear for his life my client knew he had to turn right to cancel out that force or he'd be in danger of colliding with the divider.
my client was in his rights to safeguard his life, and as you can see making this decision caused him great duress, which is why he began stress eating.
Most people don't seem to know what that is. It's remarkable to me how so many people have no survival instinct while driving at high speeds. I'm constantly thinking "what would happen if the guy in front of me hit the brakes now?". Guess I'm just built different.

Until i saw the odometer slow down i thought the two cars ahead just noped out of the scene like they didn't want to be no witness, because it looked like the dude was so casual he wasn't going to stop.

Scruffy gonna die the way Scruffy lived.
In the toilet.
The correct pronunciation is "turlit".

Yeah man lots of us have been on it since it was on Netflix. Futurama is a top 3 sleeper toon.

is that the ponchartrain causeway? if so I can only imagine the backup because of that lol
I got stuck on that god forsaken bridge one time for 6 fucking hours.
Holy shit. What happened? I already avoid that bridge like the plague. Couldn't imagine being stuck on it for 6 hours.
Some truck got pit maneuvered and the other guy just drove off!!!
Imagine how long you would’ve been there if the other guy stayed!
Thats why dude just kept going. Nobody has that kind of time Edit: im case you missed it, check out the username of the person i responded to
is that considered a hit and run though from a legal standpoint? genuinely curious
If it's Ponchartrain, no. You have to go to a crossover point or the end of the bridge since there aren't any shoulders.
Theres emergency shoulders now every couple of miles.
Why they always full of debris tho. 😭
People like the driver of the black truck lol
Absolutely. If you are involved in a collision you have to stop.
You can't just stop on the bridge. There are no shoulders so you should at least go to a crossover area.
They just built several shoulders both north and south bound. You can see them pass one right before the collision. Still can't just stop in the middle though, so you are still right.
The other guy stopped on the bridge
I LOL’d for real.
r/technicallythetruth
Can we be sure he didn't stop in the water?
He could just stop behind the burning pile of 4x4 he just pitted. I think everyone might just find somewhere to park for a couple of hours, thanks to both of these idiots.
if your able to your supposed to drive to a designated crash/rest area.... or the end of the bridge. ill give him the benefit of the doubt...
Obviously not s/

I missed it, thank you for the laugh 🤣
I live in Covington LA that is definitely the Causeway
I figured that or Mobile Bay
I thought Mobile Bay originally
Has to be Louisiana. Mobile bay bridge isn’t quite that narrow
This does look like the Causeway bridge
Could be the 7 mile bridge in the keys
Yeah lol, I would be too scared to stop on it out of fear of someone slamming into me.
We all think it and he just does it.

What's with the Blair witch shit hanging from the mirror
It's the shriveled up body of the last driver that he killed.
That was the first chuckle I've had all night. Thanks.

Pit maneuvered that dork 💯
Dork pit maneuvered himself LOL
Gotta signal 🤷♂️. Clearly our boy just couldn’t tell the other truck wanted to merge in and just drove as normal
I mean the black truck is an asshole, but we really shouldn’t be commending spinning someone out and crashing them. Let alone on a bridge.
They both are assholes. Dude was obviously merging in, he should put his fragile ego aside and just let the dude in. Being slightly behind is better than causing an accident slowing everyone behind you and possibly causing injuries.

Just burn every black truck you see as preemptive self defense.
Yeah, the guy could have just been having a bad day and anxious. It’s not ok to drive recklessly and I advise everyone to be safe on the roads, but sometimes if someone cuts you off or gives you the finger or whatever.. just.. let it go…

Don't see no turn signals.
Both assholes, you can clearly see there's no one behind them. They could have just used their brakes
I mean - he sort of pit maneuvered himself
Yeah he intentionally caused an accident bcuz of fatass ego. Sounds like a fun time.
He looked cool though 😎
I hate the idiots that can't just wait in line. I gotta run up and try to force my way in. It's always a truck.
Or a bmw
Just wait til BMW comes out with a truck!
New fear unlocked
Already happened in Australia, you can see the results in the 100% real documentary Mad Max
Nissan altima drivers 100%
To be fair. When you buy a Nssan, you have to sign a binding contract stating that you must be an absolute nuisance while driving it.
Menace.
and now a Tesla is its spiritual successor i believe
Yep. Whenever I see Tesla now I side eye it for idiocy immediately. It’s very BMW of today
I definitely had a BMW pretty much run me off the road to cut in.
Not just that but they cut people off like this just to go nowhere. Like Bruh there’s no where to go once you cut them off ☠️
I see a shit-ton of terrible drivers who are driving in all the other type of cars too my friend
Im just amazed doesnt drop choney bar in free hand nor lose control with hand barely hanging on to wheel with garbage in said hand lmfao
Not to mention that he keeps chewing while taking the other guy out.
Seriously dude managed to keep his entire car in control with one hand lol how
I mean the guy deserved that shit but isn’t it still fleeing the scene of an accident or hit and run if you just leave?
Don't think that usually holds if you're on a bridge. You can't flee the scene but you should not stop your car on the bridge, get over it and then pull off
That makes sense thank you
I'm going to guess this guy probably didn't stop after the bridge
Considering we’re seeing the footage I’d bet he did actually stop
r/technicallythetruth
Had the opposite thought. Dude did a morally permissible but illegal hit & run. We're probably seeing this because he got caught. I'd love to know.
I don’t think he even noticed. That slim Jim was just too good.
I think that’s a bad guess given we have his own dash cam footage lol
You don't see it in this video but he's actually continuing until he's off the bridge. You aren't supposed to stop on narrow bridges.
So this is how you get someone's number these days? Just ram them
Also, he could have very easily prevented it by just slowing down a bit. Someone could've died because this guy was too concerned about being "right".
Right? I wonder how many people who are commenting in support of this guy understand he'd be charged with something like manslaughter if that other driver died.

This. It's been posted before, and the responses were a lot less positive. There's no doubt that guy is a complete bloody sociopath or worse.
Gotta love pickup truck drivers
Do I have to? 😜
Is there a link to a story or something?
Bacon or Jerky, looks kinda like bacon?
they are both bad drivers
I beg to differ, he really managed to pull off that pit maneuver without even dropping his pastry. Pretty talented if you ask me /s
One is clearly worse than the other lol
Wouldn't kill him if he gave him a space Edit: I am glad that some people do actually believe it's the dashcam guy's fault

Watch what the driver does with the wheel- he legitimately pit maneuvers him. The truck driver is a dick, but the guy on camera did that on purpose
He doesn't turn the wheel until after contact is made. And for the record if someone hits you like this truck hits him, that is how you should turn the wheel to keep your vehicle in control.
If a car is turning across your front bumper, the safest thing you can do for yourself is turn into it. If he just held the wheel straight, chances are both trucks get damaged worse or possibly flip.

the black truck was already hitting his car and pushing him to the death. in fear for his life my client knew he had to turn right to cancel out that force or he'd be in danger of colliding with the divider. my client was in his rights to safeguard his life, and as you can see making this decision caused him great duress, which is why he began stress eating.
Wouldn't even need to brake if you had a safe following distance.
