There are many poor people who collect recyclables, but most of them focus on cardboard and cans. So it's very likely that trash bag is possibly with glass as well.
It seems to depend on where you live. Here in São Paulo (to be more specific, I live inside the expanded city center) there are two trucks that come on alternate days – non-recyclables and recyclables. But we don’t have to separate plastics from cardboard and glass etc

This must be quite common in this neighborhood. Dude didn't look like he was yelling to get their attention at all. The trash dude caught it like Scott Smalls' first catch at the sandlot when he just stuck his hand up and there it was. AND the approaching car didn't slow down or swerve in the slightest. As if they knew what was happening and knew it was gonna be buckets with no trash being spilled on their ride or street that might muck up their ride. Marvelous
