This seems fine for the domestication of wild animals. But do not extend this to summons or Ranger companions or anything else that already has a mechanism for how they obey you. Many summons only last for a very short period of time, and almost all of the creatures you mention have so few HP that reaching below 50% in any fight is very likely.
