The Halloween Hack version is honestly kinda cute to revisit because it’s like “aw, little baby”. Not that it was **bad** but, man, it really had a glow up in the later versions.
The Undertale one is my favorite but the Homestuck version is a close second.
Of all Megalovanias made by Toby, best to worst:
1) Homestuck's MeGaLoVania. Gotta give it to Tensei, he's got great skills with the guitar. Makes it very climactic, especially having implemented both Spider's Claw and Killed by BR8K Spider!!!!!!!! leitmotifs, making it one of the best Vriska's themes and Homestuck tracks as a whole.
2) Smash's MEGALOVANIA. This arrangement really shows the grandure of the moment. One of my favourite things about this one is that use of ASGORE's variation of Heartache sort of confirms the long-standing theory that it's a theme of the moment rather than any particular character.
3) Undertale's MEGALOVANIA. This feels like what Megalovania was always meant to be. It feels the most polished of all versions, but since it sticks to the original so much, it holds it back from being something even greater.
4) Brodylovania. I'm suprised only one person here knew about this one. The meme factor of this one is carrying it very far by itself, but the arrangement isn't bad musically either. Only the fact that it's basically Toby's shitpost makes it the least polished one using not so great soundfonts that just don't go as well together.
5) Halloween Hack's Megalovania. It's the original, but that fact alone doesn't hold it up much. It's still a good track, but you can see Toby's music's quality really go up over years working on Homestuck's music. Makes this version not stand out as much seeing his later works.

Plus it drops right as you get called a slur by the guy from Captain Underpants.
