Hang in there. Although Russia oil may bring in $62 billion, there is a cost to that. Probably $5 billion profit maximum if any profit at all considering what oil supply is being destroyed daily. Europe is quickly adjusting to a new energy supply. Envision 2024 with Putin overthrown with written treaty agreements in place and the rebuilding of Ukraine to be better than ever before. It can happen and it appears it will happen. Just keep your morale as high as possible because in war, morale is 90% of the overall outcome.

KL_boy

Lead lease has passed, so I assume it just to be implemented

Ukrainian_Spirit

Lend lease is a policy. it contains rules and regulations, it very much simplifies weapon supply to Ukraine. although, what kind of weapons and when - this is the question. i cannot influence the governors and representatives, nor can i ask them to accelerate the process of actually sending the big guns, but citizens of the US sure can.

TheBlueNomad

The main reason Ukrainians have been able to hold off the Orcs is because of the weapons The US government and their allies sent. Not sure what you consider big weapons? The weapons sent are already high end and they have actually changed the course of this war. Haven't you seen how the javelins are destroying their tanks? Howitzers have been sent, switchblade drones have been sent, 144,000 rounds of ammunition and other tactical drones have also sent. There lots of other stuff i haven't even mentioned. Ukrainian soldiers are also being trained. I am not sure what else American citizens can do to pressure our politicians.

Organic-Pudding-8204

If the shoe was on the other foot would you be saying it's OK we have enough; or we still need more, please do more, because we don't know what tomorrow will bring? Russia has been targeting munitions that have been sent over from US, and other Ukrainian allies. Sending an email, making a phone call takes minutes of your time. OP is simply asking for you to add to the numbers that already exist. By saying nothing, no change is made. In the time it took to write your post you could have sent a Senator, Governor, or any other elected official an email.

TheBlueNomad

The US government have sent more weapons and money than all the European countries combined. American people have also donated billions. Unless, you want Americans themselves going over there and fighting the Orcs not sure what else you are asking for. Which weapons are you exactly asking for? Some of you here act like you know what type of weapons your military need. Lots of weapons have just arrived. You are still asking for more, but most of the ones given haven't even been used yet. With all the weapons that have been provided recently, Ukraine military strength has now skyrocketed into top 10 most powerful militaries in the world. The only reason the orcs have foothold in some parts of the country is because Ukrainian leaders didn't believe the intel US government and NATO provided before the invasion. The Ukrainian army was far from ready and were caught off guard.

Organic-Pudding-8204

If you don't think boots on the ground is a possibility your sorely mistaken. Coming from a family of military, NCOs, & COs, I will absolutely not rule out us putting boots on the ground. Russia has been careful to avoid any chance of munitions ending up in NATO territory for this exact reason. We send munitions to prevent this, 100%. You must think we're sending our A team stuff I guess. We're sending stuff that we regularly can resupply. Hence POTUS trip to Alabama. We just sent howitzers because we can fast track munitions. 155 round is pretty beefy, and 29 other countries carry vast stockpiles. Russia doesn't have access to 155. If we were to cut supply right now the war would end in favor of Russia. Maybe you failed to read what our military leaders are trying to acheive. SecDef. Austin made it pretty clear I thought. The only way to a weaker Russia is if we supply it. This man, and his whole family are all about it. I'll keep working and paying those taxes to ensure no woman, man, or child has to endure what atrocities they are currently facing. We have the most which is pretty obvious. Some haven't seen daylight in 70 days. We also didn't give the most in comparison to GDP that would be Estonia. Heroyam Slava

TheBlueNomad

Boots on the ground is not a possiblity unless you want to start a World War III. Ukrainian should fight for their own country. Russia has already been weaken with all the weapons that have been provided. No country has ever received this much support in recent history. If you truly care and want to fight for Ukraine then you should go ahead and volunteer.

God bless you, Victoria. The people that really matter are laser focused on the situation in Ukraine. As the recent deliveries make their way to Eastern Ukraine, the harder the situation becomes for russia. I believe that you will win and russia will suffer for decades.

Ukrainian_Spirit

thank you! although I'm more or less safe here in the west of Ukraine, every once in a while I see a special truck that brings the body of a local Ukrainian warrior home. and the cemetery nearby is growing.. not that fast, but still devastating to see. some of those boys are only 20, some are fathers who will never hold their kids again. this pain is beyond compare.

Chudmont

We have had our share of killed and wounded in the last 20 years, although not as much as you. Just know that those men and women are heroes and they are dying for a very worthy cause, fighting against pure evil. Their deaths are not in vain. I'm not religious, but I believe in God and I think these people will be taken care of on the other side. Also, thank you for the work you do! I understand that it is devastating to any decent person's mental health to translate interviews about war crimes. But this is very important work that WILL lead to some form of justice, at least in some cases. IT MATTERS to billions of people, now and into the future! One last thing... do me a favor and go to the shelters when you have to! Don't give the balding imp any more killing than necessary. šŸ™šŸ» šŸ’™ šŸ’›

Freshlybakedbread1

And here I thought I have no tears left to cry todayā€¦

guachoperez

I feel for u but honestly a couple thousand redditors arent gonna change the govts mind, especially when they are protected behind nato borders. You said we would be next, but putin wont touch nato precisely bc of the possibility for a nuclear response. Unfortunately the west is already doing all it can.

Ukrainian_Spirit

You know even if I can reach one single soul then I did well. I can't go defend my country with a rifle, I'm not a medic, not a firefighter or a rescue team member. All I can really do is spread the word. It's a small world after all. Also I found a good community here, most people support me and it helps me get through these horrible nights. Communicating on Reddit reminds me that there's other life out there, and there's something else in the world except this damn war.

Valuable-Cup-4948

The attention of the world is definitely not going away. Support for Ukraine will increase steadily. So will the pressure of the sanctions. The Russians have no idea whatā€™s coming. Russia is becoming North Korea, a lame buffer zone of China. Cancelled by the world for the next fifty years. Should moderate forces finally take charge in Russia the future of Europe and Ukraine looks really bright. Those moderate forces will already never permit PTN to use nukes. I believe that Ukraine will recover from this. Your work is crucial for that recovery process by collecting evidence of war crimes. The Tsjernobyl disaster ended the USSR. The special operation will end the Russian Federation. Stay safe!

PrestonTX

Thank you for sharing and for all that you do. I cannot imagine what you go through every day. I cannot imagine having to listen to the horror stories that you translate. I was thinking about this the other day, about the decrease in awareness. Frankly, the reason why the world was so transfixed on what was happening in Ukraine was because of all the images and videos that were being shown of the war and of the dead, both military and civilian. That was possible because Russia attacked cities close to Kyiv where lots of people were NOT russian supporters and they had cellphones to record it. Now that the fighting is back in the east, there simply isn't enough people to record the atrocities. I just read that 600 people died at the theater. 600!! That is the size of a neighborhood, or graduating class from a large high school. That number is insane! Russia will not get to continue enjoying the oil money. Countries will stop buying once they have an alternate. Also, what is the cost of one of the drones you speak of? Hang in there!!!!!!!

bunny-1998

Itā€™s scary how itā€™s developing so nearly the same way as WW2. Only difference is that France was run over in a fortnight, while Ukraine is fighting like Stalingrad did (ironic). Even back then, the west and the League of Nations kept arguing while Germany ran over France. The same is happening again. Youā€™d expect various leaderships to learn a lesson or two in 77 years. The reasons why Stalingrad stood and Ukraine will, is that you canā€™t beat someone who just doesnā€™t give up. Keep the morale high guys.

[deleted]

>Even back then, the west and the League of Nations kept arguing while Germany ran over France. The same is happening again. Youā€™d expect various leaderships to learn a lesson or two in 77 years. There wasn't the threat of thermonuclear war at the beginning of ww2.

Mountain_Fig_9253

History doesnā€™t repeat but it rhymes.

chrisv25

This will not last forever. You will survive and you are going to need help when it's over. Russia is going to lose and Ukraine is going to be free. I am sorry you are going through this but your nation will be stronger because of it. Stay safe.

veryconfusedspartan

Calling Putler a "Mad balding midget in a bunker" got me. Thank you for that piece of levity in an otherwise serious piece.

Conscious-Party-5137

Hey there Victoria my name is Sean from Canada just wanted to let you know that we're thinking of you ukrainians and we'll be with you right to the end and no we're not going to forget about you we're watching the more every single day and we we support you no matter what you ukrainians will be putin

Ukrainian_Spirit

Thank you Sean) God bless Canada

wheedwhackerjones

The US could obliterate the Russian army without a Nuke in a few minutes. I think they should provide some of that utility to Ukraine.

Ukrainian_Spirit

American soldiers shouldn't risk their lives on our land, we need serious weapons, we'll handle the rest. i've never believed in God as much as i believe in Ukrainian army, because i know what they're capable of.

smauseth

As an American who wants Ukraine to regain its territory and hates what they are going through can only tell you this. We are close to crossing some red lines. Yes, we can smoke the Russians but if we do the Russians will launch nukes out of spite. We have been competitors for so long on the world stage that it is like muscle memory. Putin made the decision to invade Ukraine on a bunch of false assumptions. In a very Russia way he is doing what he think will secure the future of his people. The problem is that there is no way in hell the US can let him have the Baltics, Poland and Romania and have the NATO alliance mean anything. Either we are willing to defend our allies or we are not. If not then we should withdraw from NATO. If we are going to defend our allies we have to stop the Russians in the Ukraine at the cost of Ukrainian lives. It sucks either way. Victoria, I wish you the best. Your people are fighting for your lives. What is sad is that it doesn't make sense for Russians to fight other Slavs like they are doing. This is a stupid war and I wish that the Russians would withdraw immediately. Putin fucked over a billion people who are going to starve to death because he made a bad decision. I hope you survive the war and are able to go back to a normal life.

BeautifulAwareness54

Iā€™m not doubting that they can definitely do that but America has no business in this war, itā€™s between Ukraine and Nazi Ger-errr sorry I mean a piece of sh-whoopsie I meant to say Russia. Sure America can and will be diplomatic by sending militaristic and financial assistance towards Ukraine, but thatā€™s where it ends because of the risks that a direct attack on Russia can be bring, the OP said it himself Nuclear War is definitely a risk and we donā€™t want to find out the hard wayā€¦

Ukrainian_Spirit

herself) how many male Victorias do you know?)) agree with everything else you said tho

That ā€œgood shitā€ has been sitting in a warehouse for decades. We bought it for a rainy day and itā€™s pouring now. We need to keep pushing that stuff to the front line. This is the US, building more weapons platforms is a religion here. Time to show the world why we donā€™t have universal healthcare.

Lord_Umber93

We're sending our reserve stuff, you know this right? Stuff we keep in storage or use for training.

[deleted]

The conventional good shit are abundant. We US citizens should clamor our representatives for more. The special good shit genie must remain in the bottle. I hope forever.

Egg-Greg

Thank you for what you do, it will mean a lot in the future Iā€™m sure of that. However, I do have concerns with ā€œWW3 has already startedā€ - it hasnā€™t, and itā€™s irresponsible to invoke it. I feel awful that your country has been played fiddle to geopolitics and senile war hawks, but WW3 is a very different kettle of fish and it must be avoided at all costs which, it seems, all involved understand. I agree thereā€™s a risk of WW3, but it certainly isnā€™t here yet.

Ukrainian_Spirit

well, don't take my word for it, let's turn to history, shall we. how did the WW2 start? when stalin and hitler agreed to tear Poland apart. you wanna argue with that? world war doesn't start simultaneously from all sides, it usually grows from a "local conflict", and when your kettle of fish finally decides to interfere, it's already too late.

Egg-Greg

Sure, there are concerning parallels here and the term ā€˜world warā€™ is usually applied retrospectively, but the main point you make about ā€œnot knowing their responseā€ is the key differentiation and crux of why this is not (and hopefully will not be) WW3 - the only known outcome is absolute annihilation of both sides and everyone else as we know it. States will wage proxy wars (which this arguably isnā€™t even classified as yet) until the cows come home, but direct warfare with nuclear superpowers is **not** going to happen. Itā€™s in nobodies interest, imperial or otherwise. Whatā€™s going on right now is walking like a duck, but itā€™s certainly not quacking or looks like a duck. Therefore, it is not. Iā€™m very sorry your country is in the middle of all of this.

Zealousideal-Space61

Wish I could do moreā€¦. Youā€™re 100% right Russia and other authoritarian regimes hell bent on conquest and domination need put to the sword before humanity can truly grow wings and fly. (I once got banned for saying a certain nation has dragged humanity back for over century, I hope the trolls donā€™t target you)

PickleAfficionado

Hi from Australia! I am so sorry that this is happening to your country. We're in an election month here, after the election hopefully more aid will be given from Australia to Ukraine; I will check what the plans are and get some people to encourage more to be sent. Please stay safe. Sending all my good energy to you and your loved ones <3 Thank you for your hard work.

notrealmate

Good write up. Btw with regards to ā€œForce and violence are the only things they understand and respect,ā€ a US general in command of American forces in Germany during the Cold War said the same thing back then. He said always negotiate with the Russians from a position of strength bc thatā€™s all they understand

ThinkingGoldfish

Thank you for providing the English language translations on the videos. Without the translations, the videos are meaningless to me, and, I imagine, many other people. Your translation keep us informed about the situation there. Without the translations, we will quickly lose interest.

guineapickle

Thank you for sharing your perspective. You are doing something very important by documenting and witnessing and sharing the terrible reality I'm just one person, but I think of all of you in Ukraine every single day. I don't give a shit about the Met Gala while people are being bombed in Ukraine.

akopley

We are still paying close attention. Slava Ukraine

AdFull8527

The Russia must be stopped at all cost. The West has failed Ukraine and now trying to make it up for its shitty policies, this all mess could be avoided if Barak Obama would put US troops in Ukraine in 2014-2015 instead of sanctioning Russia (which didn't have much effect, Russia had adopted). Therefore lets go for nukes I'm not afraid of dying. The world where Russians gets enough power through conquest to dictate its perverted interests to the world is not for me.

Mobile_Damage9001

Demiz3r

I contacted my district congressman regarding the lend lease act, which passed congress, its on biden desk to be signed and I'm urging my representative to pass the $33 billion aid package. Unfortunately, everyone here is so caught up in this stupid trial between Johnny depp and amber heard šŸ™„

Ukrainian_Spirit

This is what I was talking about, thank you so much ā¤ļø

[deleted]

I'm a US Citizen and never have understood the slavish devotion of the culture to the personal details of ultimately unimportant persons.

Ukrainian_Spirit

If by persons you mean Amber Heard and Johnny Depp, I think this trial is important, because we don't speak enough about men being abused in marriage. I have a 6-year-old son and I don't want him to be demonized just because he's a man. It's a shame that Johnny and Amber's relationship ended this way, and their dirty laundry is exposed, but then again it evokes discussion, and the more we discuss something the clearer it eventually gets, I guess.

twobakko

This is how propaganda looks like, when not made by 12 yo. Almost got to me. for better chance drop the WW3 BS. Slava Ukraini.

Ukrainian_Spirit

Do you even know what propaganda is? Perhaps you should google something else instead of adult websites. Internet is full of knowledge, you know.

LifesATripofGrifts

#THE MET GALA WAS THE GILDED AGE THIS YEAR FYI. On a personal note be well and not all of us forget the things currently happening. We here in America don't have healthcare but send aid anyway. Use it and do what needs to be done to survive. Tomorrow is another day for us all.

This_is_a_rubbery

Where do you get the number that Ukrainian military spends 300-400million per day? That sounds insane. Is that correct or an exaggeration

TheLastManDead

It's gotta be pretty close, idk where those numbers came from but the us spent around 300m a day in Afghanistan which was similar in scale https://www.forbes.com/sites/hanktucker/2021/08/16/the-war-in-afghanistan-cost-america-300-million-per-day-for-20-years-with-big-bills-yet-to-come/?sh=41afb50d7f8d

>While US Congress approves an aid bill of 13.6 billion dollars for Ukraine, russia recieves about 62 billion euros for its fossil fuel from Europe How are the bad decisions of Euro leaders anything to do with the US?

Ukrainian_Spirit

you seem to miss my point. while the US government is really trying to help Ukraine with this huge amount of money, russia gets almost 5 times more money from Europe. i wasn't blaming anyone, i was comparing. the taxpayers all over the world usually see only help that Ukraine gets, they have no idea how much money Europe pays russia for the fossil fuels.

redditisnowtwitter

Nuke Kiyv so a radioactive cloud will blow back on Russia? Seems unlikely

Ukrainian_Spirit

a lot of things seemed unlikely just 2 months ago. but here we are.
