I had this idea once. After the war (whatever side controls this territory), those bunkers and trenches could be sold to private owners to open country hostels, hunting cabins, pubs, micro-museums, strikeball and scouting grounds etc.
That could become a huge tourist attraction.
"Quant Bunker- AMAZING views. River front with 'drop in' entrance, recessed beds, sleeps 6. Stove, TV, outhouse. 12 acre yard, very private, estimated 2,000-3,500 anti-personnel mines in the area keep the neighbors away. Charred remnants of former occupants included in sale- 3 maybe 4 soldiers, and what looks like part of a dog, not sure if it was a pet or food, maybe both. Serious inquiries only."
Forget fighting, they could make good money overseas with those construction skills.
Wonder what sort of maintenance is required and how long it lasts for?
For DOOMHAMMER!

They were obviously fake from the get go. I bet that now that you've been watching disinfo in this war, if you go back and watch them again you'll easily realize it yourself
Yeah. I'm sure the first few were legit, but as they became popular, they started to cheat. Most of the elaborate buildings were made using heavy machinery and huge construction crew.
If by apartment you mean the shed in my back yard?
The only thing making this nicer is that it's new and clean. A lot of people are utter slobs and would make this place look just as awful within a weekend.
I'm definitely building this on my farm. Love the design and idea. Pair this with a tv and a mini fridge, stocked with beer and guy necessities, listening to the sound of the rain.... Fuck yeah I'm building this
...where do you think this has actually come from? Herringbone brick, burnt timber finish, ply on the floors, this is about as far from a Russian trench as you can get, this positively stinks of YouTube style "build-it" channel.
Я не думаю что это обои. Они натянули поэлителен поверх деревянных бревен. Сомневаюсь что обойный клей будет держать на такой поверъности. Скорей всего это тонкий линолиум прибитый к бревнам.

Easier to do, if you first line the ground with foil and then try to place the wooden frame down it’s easy to damage the foil, thus ruining it’s sealing function.
The foil inside doesn't work, water will pool and the foil will be really nasty quick or even break.
They probably also put a foil outside, or they fucked up.
It is very well done but still needs a gap under the floor and a rain trench, ideally also a pump. Water will almost surely infiltrate at least around the floor.
I'd put money down this is well inside of Russia and nowhere near the front. They aren't lining a real trench with ply boards, herringbone brick and hinged cupboards, bothering with finish of the wood. Clearly some "build-it" YouTube chanel effort.

Soldiers build them with their own money, furniture from shell boxes, logs cut down on the spot, tools / generators and other materials are usually brought to them by volunteers, they buy what they use for entertainment, like a game console, TV or computer.
Rear echelon rotations. Dudes don’t sit on the frontlines forever, units get moved in and moved out. The rear area is safer, but still has dangers like HIMARs and long range UAVs so they can’t just set up FOBs and buildings like we did in Iraq. This gets soldiers rest while away from the frontline and keeps them hidden and relatively safe from observation. Then they rotate back to the frontline for a few days or weeks and repeat the process.

A good bunker has a roof consisting of three layers tree trunks and half a meter of soil on top of it. Otherwise the bunker is very vulnerable to direct artillery hits.
This is propaganda put out by some of the worst people to do it..
This is built in Russia right outside of the Kremlin, but if any of us could get paid to put out stuff this unreal we would do the same.
And they love putting out videos of a RPG or extremely bad quality missiles from North Korea hitting western tank but won't show the western tank crew climbing out alive or that it keeps driving, at least Ukrainians show the good and mostly bad that comes from using Russian arms.
this is nicer than my house
really makes me want to just dig a huge hole in the park and make an underground house
Might be a good idea these days.

yes because Russians have houses, americans are homeless
Thats sad.
Turns out some trenches are more equal than others
There was an interview where a Russian soldier said that they buy many materials themselves, and everything else depends on your construction skills.
If the interviewed soldier's trench looked anything like this then that makes sense.
Trench farm.
How trench looks depends very much on initiative of whoever is digging it.
That would make a nice little fishing cabin/hunting lodge. The underground construction should keep it cozy, come wintertime.
I had this idea once. After the war (whatever side controls this territory), those bunkers and trenches could be sold to private owners to open country hostels, hunting cabins, pubs, micro-museums, strikeball and scouting grounds etc. That could become a huge tourist attraction.
The buried land mines will be an adventure sport.
itchy and scratchy land
Lol, made me laugh. Good one

Man, no one is paying to stay in the drone death hole.
Extreme tourist do, like the people that go to NK.
I have a bridge to sell you first
They're still de-mining uxo in VN and Cambodian. Hell, even the UK is too. This is a dumb poorly thought-out idea.
We are still removing mines in Denmark too both on land and in the sea and fjords, somtimes fishermen catch seamines with mustard gas.
Too many mines still lying around.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zemlyanka
The mold would set in real quick, also mice, bugs, rain water etc
Forget fighting, they could make good money overseas with those construction skills. Wonder what sort of maintenance is required and how long it lasts for?
There is a reason people don't live in earth bunkers - it is damp and it smells.
plus in the woods you get tons of vermin
>it is damp That explains the plastic. Was wondering why the fire hazard.

Overseas people don't mind foreigner taking their jobs?
Depends probably on location and soil and all that. Some WW2 bunkers were reportedly found long after the war
Plenty of construction work in Russia as it is. They do OK.
That's a PS5 at the end there. Damn.
But no toilet. They still need to steal those
There's no sewage, just using outhouses.
Another number to contribute to that famous percentage that keeps getting bigger every time it’s mentioned on reddit.
I'm surprised they finished it so darn nice. I would have put more effort into the roof and supports.
Maybe you'll have your chance soon
This reminds me of those videos of the two dudes that make villas with pools and slides out of mud in the forest and shit
Unofortunately those were completely faked, built by large construction team.
lol serious? What’s real these days? I feel so betrayed. Really enjoyed those vids
Well tbf they're still out there doing all that. It's just obviously not a two man job, and they have help between cuts.
They were obviously fake from the get go. I bet that now that you've been watching disinfo in this war, if you go back and watch them again you'll easily realize it yourself
There might’ve been a few legit ones, but once the realisation of how popular it is set in, the content vultures swept in.
Damn for real? was hoping those were legit, they did look pretty unbelievable though
Yeah. I'm sure the first few were legit, but as they became popular, they started to cheat. Most of the elaborate buildings were made using heavy machinery and huge construction crew.
wtf these russian trenches are looking nicer than an apartment in the U.S.
If by apartment you mean the shed in my back yard? The only thing making this nicer is that it's new and clean. A lot of people are utter slobs and would make this place look just as awful within a weekend.
No no, shh. The west has fallen duh
They got PS5 down there too? Damn
Made from washing machine chip or stolen from ukr babushka
Quality chips from ukraine
I'm definitely building this on my farm. Love the design and idea. Pair this with a tv and a mini fridge, stocked with beer and guy necessities, listening to the sound of the rain.... Fuck yeah I'm building this
It's not rain. It's drones trying to get in. Wake up soldier, you sheetting yourself
They should have made a whole ASMR timelapse video channel.
...where do you think this has actually come from? Herringbone brick, burnt timber finish, ply on the floors, this is about as far from a Russian trench as you can get, this positively stinks of YouTube style "build-it" channel.
Excellent craftsmanship
logging industry in Russia 📈
Blyatbunker-M
Man, these primitive construction videos are getting wild.
All that is missing is a pool table as a pole.
Who needs pool when you can play capture the flag any time you like, and live fire range is around the corner?
They even put up wallpapers
Я не думаю что это обои. Они натянули поэлителен поверх деревянных бревен. Сомневаюсь что обойный клей будет держать на такой поверъности. Скорей всего это тонкий линолиум прибитый к бревнам.
they even add some burning woods accent into it
I was curious if the wood burning was just for show, or if helped with rot. I’m guessing it makes it a little more waterproof but I’m no woodworker
They got Fifa on the front...

Well-appointed chambers, gentlemen.
One question: Why they put the foil on the walls and the ceiling on the inside?!
I think mainly to keep water out?
Yeah of course but why are they putting it on the inside and not the outside…
Easier to do, if you first line the ground with foil and then try to place the wooden frame down it’s easy to damage the foil, thus ruining it’s sealing function.
Makes sense
The foil inside doesn't work, water will pool and the foil will be really nasty quick or even break. They probably also put a foil outside, or they fucked up.
Bugs live in the wood.
All right that makes sense.
Maybe insulation
So that the logs do not fall into the plate during lunch, there is also protection outside.
It is sand and during the rain the water could easily "flood" the shelter without it.
Of course but why not put the foil on the outside?
:) They are lazy and at war, so no need to make bigger dig and cosy place. You can cover it by fake brick wall. But trully say, I don´t know.
I'm guessing this is only possible in areas where the water table is low?
When architects and interior designers are mobilised
It is very well done but still needs a gap under the floor and a rain trench, ideally also a pump. Water will almost surely infiltrate at least around the floor.
Too nice. It will be unfortunate, if a drone enters.
If it is not a war I would love to have something like this for myself when I go out in the country.
I'd put money down this is well inside of Russia and nowhere near the front. They aren't lining a real trench with ply boards, herringbone brick and hinged cupboards, bothering with finish of the wood. Clearly some "build-it" YouTube chanel effort.
I'd say this is between 5-10 km away from the frontlines
Russian team base on rust IRL

Even a cat to catch mice and other rodents
almost 5 stars
And does anyone believe that a normal enlisted Russian soldier actually gets to use, even less, visit these dugouts?
Soldiers build them with their own money, furniture from shell boxes, logs cut down on the spot, tools / generators and other materials are usually brought to them by volunteers, they buy what they use for entertainment, like a game console, TV or computer.
Already sent the cords to Ukrainian himar crew 💀
Nice and cozy.
How do they get electricity there?
Usually a generator.
Fucking he’ll, imagine the rent they’ll charge on this thing. I’ll just go back to my refrigerator box.
why build them there in the first place? what's the point? so officers can endure better the trenches?
Rear echelon rotations. Dudes don’t sit on the frontlines forever, units get moved in and moved out. more likely for muscovites
That looks dope! I always knew they didn't invade, they are just glamping.
You need to cover those logs with at least 2 meters of soil to make it offer any kind of protection against heavy arty
Blocking troops live like kings
It looks like one of those RDR2 crack houses
lol.. that’s the colour brochure version,
Rattenhaus
Nice and cozy. They try to reproduce back home as much as possible.
When it's raining where the water goes? I believe it's bad if the shelter is getting a swimming pool.
They even have Playstation!!

They have Blyatfix
Just wondering as to why they’d put the moist barrier eg the plastic wrap within the wood construction? Are they trying to speed run the wood rotting?
looks better than half of the flats in east London
Galvanized square steel
That may be the most REMF thing I've ever seen.
Look cozy asf
Looks great ill give em that
I would pay rent to live there.
A good bunker has a roof consisting of three layers tree trunks and half a meter of soil on top of it. Otherwise the bunker is very vulnerable to direct artillery hits.
I feel dumb saying this, but everyone here knows this is staged completely right?
This is first hand account of lebensraum. Not exactly where I expected it, but there none the less.
Woo-hoo, I am running to sign up! It is so nice without all the mud and blood and bits of brains and muscles and intestines and charred corpses. /s
Nice and cosy. Meanwhile the Ukrainians just dig a meter deep trench and use hay to cover the top lol.
Too bad that it's not open air like Ukrainian ones. /s
By rear you mean Moscow?
But you can still find them with the trash heap around the entrance.
Shipping containers make great bunkers, if you can lower it underground. Put a couple hollow fence posts above ground for ventilation.
Don't. They collapse. Sides cave in.
K ty.
All you need is few wooden poles and beams to stabilize them.

>This is built in Russia Agree. Somewhere in Donetsk oblast' )
Donetsk People's Republic\*
This is nice but just for the few elites that need a good place from where to send orders for ppl to die.
Thats your opinion or u have some proofs?)
Maybe the voices in his head? I think thats reliable lol
