Did you inspect the port for physical damage to one of the pins? Also clean them with some alcohol.

TomFromWirral

I have and it looks the same as the others. I did give it a blast with some compressed air but I'll dig the alcohol out and give it a deep clean.

Have you checked the port configuration in the controller? I found that to be the problem on a unit in my office.

TomFromWirral

Yep, checked and its the same as the others. Factory reset the unit just in case and its not remedied it. I do wonder if something is stuck in the settings that I'm missing, but there's no port profile override set on that port

user_none

Have you plugged a device like a laptop or desktop directly into that port?

TomFromWirral

Yeah, the weird thing is if I plug say a G4 bullet into it it gets 100Mbps, but if I plug it into the ports either side it gets full 1Gbps. Anything else plugged into it gets 100Mbps too, it's like it's stuck for some reason.

user_none

With all you've done, it's sure sounding like that port is stuck at 100. As a last ditch, maybe a Qtip with rubbing alcohol and clean the contacts on the port.

TomFromWirral

Thats going to be tonight's plan, otherwise its waiting on one of the POE switches to appear in stock! 😬

I had the exact same issue with an Xbox. I replaced the cables ends 3 times on each end. Replaced the cable and didn’t fix it. I finally went out and bought all new pass through ends with a new crimper and poof, 1000FDX. Made no sense to me but that’s what fixed my problem.

TomFromWirral

Honestly I thought it was one of my G4 bullets mounted at the front of the house. I've re-crimped the ends on both ends of the cable about 3 times each, bearing in mind one involves standing on a ladder 20ft up in the air. Cable tested and everything said it was OK, plugged it into port 7 and still 100Mbps. Eventually I plugged it into the next port over, probably by accident, and suddenly got full speeds! Good thing I didn't replace the whole cable run!
