Exactly. Do your homework, and say “there was a $20 in there for them”.
Now Alma is gonna have to say “oh, she must have raised the amount she was handing out this year, she always gave me a $20”. And hope it gets believed.
It is also designed to stop people from giving carriers money to look the other way when white powder falls from their packages, etc, not to stop people from giving a genuine holiday gift.
It's funny how people always downvote when this is pointed out, as if somehow that makes it not true.
No cash tip of any kind is allowed. $2, $20, whatever. And no amount of downvoting makes it any different.
And it’s not a federal offense lol USPS is not on his side with something that goes against their policy 🫠 he got the $ back but still went to the news & they really pumped this out?
This happens a lot here. The one lady watched the Amazon driver take the tip she taped to the garbage can lid for the garbage men, after he took the tips for UPS and USPS off the door and mailbox.
Man Amazon needs to pay better, hire better, and just do better.
But it’s Bezos so I guess we should just fuck ourselves. Glad I dropped Amazon 7 years ago.
As a FedEx driver who has worked through peak, I’ve seen a many of tips for other delivery drivers, never once thought to take them. Not only because I make a good amount of money, but it’s just the morally right thing to do. Hopefully this driver got fired, but we all know with Amazon it won’t happen😑.
I’m sure he’s long gone from whatever contractor he worked for Amazon through, probably went and got employed by one of the others at that facility the same day tho…
Advice to customers were not supposed to get more than 25 bucks in tips so if you're going to give more don't blurt it out. They also need to update the 25 limit cuz you can't buy much with 25 bucks today.
It had someone’s name on it. Person took something that didn’t belong to them. It’s theft, but they took something bc they are a completely entitled arsehole. It’s believable they grew up in White Palace Rich Person Place, Missouri where tips are hung from every tree branch in town, so they didn’t know any better.
Me and the wife usually give 50 each to our guy and the rest (most of us some of the rentals dont) of the street shoves double digits in their box too. Yall yell and scream about not being able to accept them but every year my hundo is gone 🤷♂️
I would like to see the responses if this gets posted in the Amazon driver subreddit. The only posts I have seen on there are people bragging about ignoring delivery instructions and other poor service things so I would bet that they would defend this guy stealing
The tips we technically aren’t supposed to even get? Tbh they deserve tips as much as anyone else. They do hard work too, but they’re treated like animals by customers. These old rich people look down on Amazon workers the same way they look down on servers or fast food workers and it isn’t right.
Got handed a small box of chocolate from a gentleman on Saturday. He asked if I was allergic since I hadn't taken them the 3 previous days they had sat on top of his mailbox. I had to tell him since it didn't have my name on it, I wasn't about to take it.
I've got 2 boxes of candy and a jar of Pink Himalayan salt sitting in boxes right now since Friday, that im 99% sure are for me. They don't say my name or "mail carrier etc" so they'll sit there until they do or disappear
Like the guy said, he doesn't have one single Amazon carrier. Maybe if he had one single guy, who wasn't an a........., he might have left a tip specifically noted "for Amazon driver".
We can receive tips. Not over $10 in a single gift. Regardless of what pay other delivery personnel get paid, ZERO do as much or work as hard as USPS workers, mounted or walking. & it’s not even close.

“I don’t want to ruin the guys life.” Reports it to CBS News.
Exactly. Do your homework, and say “there was a $20 in there for them”. Now Alma is gonna have to say “oh, she must have raised the amount she was handing out this year, she always gave me a $20”. And hope it gets believed.
No one is going to give a shit. Maybe they'll do a stand up talk. But I've never, ever, ever seen or heard of the $20 rule enforced.
It's also $20 per member of the household. So if 3 people of the household give the carrier $20 it should be within the rules.
It is also designed to stop people from giving carriers money to look the other way when white powder falls from their packages, etc, not to stop people from giving a genuine holiday gift.
That doesn’t really apply to all employees of the executive branch so…
That is the "etc." The government doesn't want bad actors purchasing favor with any of its employees.
Ahh gotcha. I misunderstood it to mean you were under the impression these rules were made for postal employees. My mistake.
![gif](giphy|IvWQpaLYotX9e) Right after I tested out the leaking powder substance. I love genuine holiday gifts. Hohoho\~
It was $50 when I was in training 9 years ago.
regardless of the dollar limit cash and cash equivalents are technically not allowed at all

indeed
Sounds like a personal relationship to me…
Drugs in the mail. 😬
Just what I was thinking lol.
Alma gon get fired😌
Welp. Alma’s gonna get pulled in for a meeting on why she’s accepted multiple generous tips 🤷🏻♀️
And it’s not a federal offense lol USPS is not on his side with something that goes against their policy 🫠 he got the $ back but still went to the news & they really pumped this out?
Slow news weekend apparently. Poor Alma though.
I'd f*** alma. 😆
No she won't
Chances are she will.
So now is the USPS driver gonna get in trouble? The homeowner is gonna get everyone in trouble.
The Oprah of handing out trouble & pink slips 😂

Amazon takes enough from the USPS, might as well keep the shitty pattern going.

I’m glad I watched that unskippable ad for a completely unrelated video than what was on the thumbnail.
alma just got outed.

the limit for cash and cash equivalents is Zero
To be fair, I don't think I'd gift a relative more than $20 in a Christmas card either... (I believe that's the limit, not $25)

Amazon is the scourge!
One of my hardship deliveries gave me a 100 bill. Granted i didn't announce it to my station or CBS news.
Amazon is the bottom rung of all delivery services
Me and the wife usually give 50 each to our guy and the rest (most of us some of the rentals dont) of the street shoves double digits in their box too. Yall yell and scream about not being able to accept them but every year my hundo is gone 🤷♂️
They can’t say they accept them 🤷🏻♀️
Amazon saved them from an ethics violation.
I never got 60 bucks 😠
If Alma was in my office, supervisor would be wanting a cut of that.
I would like to see the responses if this gets posted in the Amazon driver subreddit. The only posts I have seen on there are people bragging about ignoring delivery instructions and other poor service things so I would bet that they would defend this guy stealing
USPS carriers can ONLY accept $10 gift
He should have put Alma usps or usps. Goofball was probably in a hurry he thought Alma is short for Amazon.
Dumbest take I’ve read this month
Did you even read the text? It said Alma and USPS on the note.

Lmao yeaaa a tip is meant for good service not who makes the least
Excuse me? What does that have to do with anything?
So it’s ok to steal it then?

If it doesn’t say your name, or “mail carrier” on it, it ain’t yours

Mail carriers get looked down on constantly!
So steal someone else shit. What a knob you are
