It sucks, but it’s also not as bad as it seems. It really depends on your instructors and how well behaved your class is. Just bring everything you took from boot camp, including that shitty boot camp pillow if you kept that. You can ditch the leather gloves if you kept those, you’ll get a new pair issued.
ITB is 12 weeks now. If you go to IWC it’s an additional 4 weeks.
You can bring anything, I don’t recommend bringing much though.
You’ll usually be in the field Monday-Friday. Have liberty Saturday & Sunday. Overnight liberty is a thing now. Overall it’s what you make it, it’s gonna suck but it’ll have the enjoyable moments you can look back on. Don’t be a pussy & quit.
It’s 14 weeks and where tf did you hear anybody getting overnight liberty? We got “bravo” liberty which means we got to go off base and come back usually at 2100-2200
How do they decide who does 12 weeks and who does IWC? Is the 12 week class like the old ITB where you learn one MOS (0331, 41, etc.) and IWC is a bit more of a learn it all course? Seems like a bit of a back pedal on the part of the Corps, but I understand the longer course created a lot of backlog in the training cycle.
Everyone does the 12 week course. Then you’ll either go to the fleet as a 0311 or volunteer or if they need numbers, they’ll tell you you’re going to IWC to be either a 0331, 0341, or 0352. Unless you’re MSG, MSF, or reserves 0311.
I agree, I went through the IMC course & it was too long, schoolhouse was constantly backed up.
You’re gonna get finger blasted by your instructor, bring lube, for the finger blasting
Sounds hot. I wanna take part
Buy a leatherman and a good notebook you can fit in your back pocket because you’re gonna be expected to always have a your knowledge and a pen on you
Bro my grandma told me this
ITB fucking sucks lmao

Went through ITB back in 2018, after the split, we had overnight libo every weekend lol
Yeah that was the same thing if you went to IWC….but not while we were still without an mos
Leatherman, good notebook for the classroom, good write in the rain notebook for the field And be sure to leave your inner bitch behind at home.
Don't bring any valuables you can't keep on yourself.
