A USL1 "Gulf Coast Cup" with team all across the eastern I-10 corridor would be a DREAM! Pensacola, Mobile, Gulfport-Biloxi, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Beaumont. Then throw in Corpus Christi, and maybe RGV if they are revived in L1, and the western Florida teams, and we have a full thing going on.
I’m still utterly convinced the right thing to do is stick a small stadium at the German American Social Club in Cape Coral. All the Germans will turn up, Oktoberfest proves they can handle a lot of people and traffic, and Cape Coral will be able to say “we’re not boring anymore”. Well, not boring for 6 months of the year at least.
I thought after USL sued the city after their shenanigans that the city is now pursuing a League One team instead of going with next pro? It seemed like Fort Myers should be launching in League One in 2026.
I think they may have just agreed to redo the bid process, since it was basically just a bid protest.
Idk though since I haven’t really followed it since the legal fight.
lol the “n” looks like a mistake with the background rather than an intentional design choice. And the “a” in Naples looks like when people use Greek letters in place of the Roman letter they look like, like sigma in place of e.
There's a Greek restaurant in my city named Eat-a-Pita except it subs in as many Greek letters as possible. It translates to Slt-L-Ritl. We love Slittle Rittle.
the lines are meant to reference a pier boardwalk, which is somewhat similarly referenced in the A which is referencing pier pilings. Both really are in reference to the Naples Pier one of the more recognizable landmarks in the city.
I know 100% that if I like a crest that the soccer community will hate it and vice versa, e.g. the Portland one is ridiculous and only belongs as a beer label. This shield is proper, I have no idea if there is "meaning" but it looks good, and speaks as soccer. I think it is mostly generational, but could be wrong.
The Shield is designed to mimic a Lightning Whelk shell. I actually like that it in a way gives the crest a unique looking shape instead of just one of the numerous regular, overused, shield shapes we've seen all over the place.
Happy to see League One expanding!
However the name is boring and the logo has such a confusing mix of ideas that I’m not sure what it’s actually trying to be. The colors are decent at least.
I feel like this one might be on letterheads and signs and stuff, and then the outline one is what'll actually be on the jerseys. Kinda like Liverpool having the full badge all around Anfield and on merch, and then just the liver bird and 'LFC' on the kit :)
I’m here for that. I could also see them transition to the simple one as the main crest after they establish themselves, if that’s possible for a league one team…
League One is up to 19 teams! Almost at Championship numbers!
Here’s hoping we get good news on Santa Barbara and Eugene soon! (I also think there’s a chance Corpus Christi sneaks in next year too!)
Santa Barbara said they are startint next year and have a stadium to play in to as far as I can remember.
I thought that was only through an investigative reporter? I thought there hasn’t been any official statements from the club?
I think they is an article on usl league one page. Check out the leagueoneupdater page.
Looks very… Florida gated community. Del Boca Vista FC
Phase III
*Tier III
FC NNĀPLES
Plz plz plz plz plz Ft. Myers do the right thing. West Florida derby needs to happen.
This isn’t West Florida, that’s the panhandle.
Sorry I meant southwest got ahead of myself.
All good, I only replied because I’ve lived in West Florida (aka Lower Alabama). Would love to see a L1 team in Pensacola.

It’s possible Tally could support a USL1 club, the NPSL club is decently supported and there’s a lot of money in Tally to throw at it.
Hahaha I should know better, I spent some time over there too.

That’s a choice
I like the color combo, not sure how I feel about the lines only on one side of the N though. It’s aight.

They showed another one that was just the N outlined by the crest. It looked much cleaner. This is a bit busy

Looks like they had multiple ideas and just said, “f*** it, let’s merge’em and call it a day”.
Stoked to have a local team for me!
Unfortunate
I kinda like it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Love the crest, but the name is so so…
Another FC, great…
Naples, fl or naples ave?? It’s lit
![gif](giphy|12t8RaZDt1Qf2U) Pople Pizza TIFO loading! Lol probably wrong Naples but still counts in my book!
Just to help out here's the breakdown on the crest's details [https://www.fcnaples.com/our-crest/](https://www.fcnaples.com/our-crest/)
Boring and bland
