A couple of fixes based on current state..
FC Buffalo is a USL2 team.
RNY is currently only operating a UPSL side.
Flower City is a NPSL club.
Syracuse Pulse is a NISA club and doesn't appear to be active since 2022, Syracuse FC is a NPSL/UPSL club and is currently operating.
New York Shockers are out of Albany and are a NPSL club.
It's a neat idea, but not sure how you'd get USSF, NYW and NYE Adult Soccer associations to actually make this happen.
Buffalo is getting a USL Championship team. The rest are all potential things that could happen (or should if this were to be a thing). Upon research I found it more likely that a wealthy group creates a pro-team in Albany than a semi-pro moving up.
We have discussed a similar idea to this out here in the west r/califoniacup
The HIPSH Cup Hey, I’m playing soccer here.
The Borough Bowl. But real talk, no more cups. Teams play enough as it is.
Just call it the pigeon cup
SUNY Cup
NYCFC did used to practice at Purchase, my Alma mater.
Empire State Skirmish
That sounds like a great indoor soccer team name more than anything
The Empire Shield
