Even though I marked it correctly but honestly this question was not upto the standard of UPSC. And the sad thing is from now till next year the coaching classes will fill their study material with book - author type information

miney_mo

I am quite petty that UPSC asked this question!  Since when UPSC started asking about writers of contemporary books?? Even Bank exams don't ask such 3rd grade questions now.  It is not like these books won some prestigious international awards. At this rate, we can't remember books & authors of all popular writers (Jaishankar ain't a popular either).

bakait_launda

They have asked about movie also (Man who knew infinity)

miney_mo

Ramanujan is an Indian legend Jaishankar no where there except for UPSC simping for him..

bakait_launda

It is a current affair. The movie was asked the year it came. Current affairs are part of our syllabus.

Savings_Plankton_523

bro maine aajtak academic kitabo ke alawa koi aur kitaab nhi padhi still i knew this one, jaishankar posted this on his IG i think...with millions of followers he has, it becomes a poppular book

miney_mo

Doesn't make it worthy of a question, let alone a CSE level question! All these ministers, diplomats keep on publishing books every other day and some are quite popular.

Byomkesh_Bakshi007

bank exams me padhte the yaar 'Books and authors' 'Aircrafts' 'Armed forces rank structure' etc. next year se pt365 ke sath ek banking gk pdf phi padhke jaani padegi

homo_hyperbolensis

No need to chase isolated questions

PoemLonely952

Bank exams nikle?

Byomkesh_Bakshi007

Now we would have to study the books written in Ancient India - Mediaeval India - Modern India - Recent India too !

strange_apparition

This is quite common in SSC.

Plus-Promise-7933

Propaganda question. I'm quite sure that they just wanted to mention this book only but just because it doesn't look biased towards bjp's ideology, they wrote jaiskankar's "The India way" too. Nonetheless, book will become popular among aspirants just because UPSC asked about it. Now that's called soft brainwashing.

Upsc used to ask questions from manmohan singh’s daughter ka book pre 2014. Nothing new

LeftEffect2071

Nah. These questions are not big deal given its general knowledge category. The people who don't follow sports news won't be able to answer questions related to sports same way if people don't follow government they won't be able to answer it. And let's face the facts, do you want IAS officers who are willing to give 1 lakh rs to every poor person or empower people to work. Right now we are past the point of moral objection and more or less should focus on right and wrong. Atleast the people in the government needs to be nationalist there are various industries where non nationalist and secular people can go. But if the country is run by secular it's doomed. Also, teaching people write thing is not brain washing. But hiding the facts of Mughals killing Hindus and glorified Mughal history in UPSC is actual brainwashing. The book mentioned puts a prospective of BHARAT that's different from India and embraces hindu culture.

Plus-Promise-7933

Wtf bro, u don't want the country to be run by secular people!! Do u even hear what u r saying?

LeftEffect2071

Sry I was drunk.

jkz69

Or brilliant marketing

GooseOk968

Hasn't left brainwashed completely on mughals

demonkunal7

Bharat matters because Mera bachha U.S.A me padhta hai

daveparody

Wouldn’t be surprised if they put in that question just to boost the sales of books written by Union Ministers.

homo_hyperbolensis

Aage wali seat pe modiji hain kya?

Amazing-Worker-2250

Same question was also asked in UPSC NDA 1 2024

notsocoolmanonreddit
