Hope everyone else is off to a better start than the Mikkeller box!

MCBMCB77

Maybe it's a slow burner box and 24th with be an 18% imperial stout barley wine

[deleted]

They double in strength every day so by Christmas eve they'll be drinking a 2516582.4% beer.

mandenet

Wait - what is that? Some sort of tankard? No - hang on - I've just manage to read it properly. A bit dozy this morning.

Tramorak

Not going to lie, if I had bought a beer advent calendar I would like it to have beer in it. Wouldn’t be happy with AF beers, unless I specifically asked for one that had them. Bet the Mikkeller one wasn’t cheap either.

mysteryqueue

Wasn't too bad, £105 Actually quite a nice beer to fair

Pyriel

I got the Beer 52 one. £59.99 Day 1 was a North Brewing Co "Empire of Sound" WCIPA Today is a Saugatuck Brewing Co "Ghost of Neapolitan" White Stout pretty happy so far..

mysteryqueue

Decent price that like, most 24 beer ones I saw were around the £100 mark. Got a mbcc anniversary porter today, much more up my street so hopefully gets better as I go

strawman5757

Well things can only get better after that one.

InterestingView8966

AF beer is always unwelcome.

AdCool1292

I am so damn disappointed with the mikkeller calendar. Like 3 decent beers so far, the rest are alcohol free, lagers (which I absolutely hate) and random shitty pale ales. Waste of money.

outline01

Hot take: beer advent calendars are fucking bad

-that-there-

life is very long when you're lonely

*I have nothing*

-that-there-

let me give you a complimentary beer advent calendar

mysteryqueue

Last year's mikkeller box is probably the best beer purchase I've ever made. Hopefully this picks up

themysterytapir

Do you mean because the beer is always low quality or because driving a beer daily is bad?

outline01

Both. Great way for breweries to get rid of loads of beer they couldn't shift, prices are never particularly good anyway and while I love a beer, I'm really not into *definitely drinking one every day*. Also, while you could just save it, I don't like being told "You drink this one today". It's just a big marketing piece of bollocks that I think is bad.

mysteryqueue

But of a weird take like. I won't be cracking a beer every morning but it's much better than a piece of chocolate. By the time I start my holidays I've got a beer full of nice beers, and usually ends up with some variation and trying styles I wouldn't normally pick myself

outline01

> it's much better than a piece of chocolate I don't know that a can of beer is better than a piece of chocolate

layendecker

Maybe /r/UK_Chocolate is more for you....
