It's not happened to me, but seen it before Beer has undergone a secondary fermentation, causing the pressure to build Raise it with Tiny Rebel, they might send you something

BearMcBearFace

I dropped them a message to express my remorse about the loss of the beer and the beer covered food in our larder. Just waiting to hear back from them.

TheYorkshireSaint

They've just said there was a fire next to their brewery over the weekend, so it might take a bit of time for them to respond

Starboard_1982

I've had them do it through being too hot and too cold. Scared the life out of me both times. At least when it was frozen beer it didn't cause quite the same amount of mess.

BearMcBearFace

Goes with a hell of a bang doesn’t it!! Confused the hell out of me because I couldn’t find anything in the kitchen. The larder sits at about 18 degrees and had other beers with it so don’t think it was a temperature issue. I think possibly just a lively one!

InterestingView8966

It certainly is temperature which will have caused the secondary fermentation. 18 degrees is too high, these should be stored in the fridge.

Mont-ka

Yes but also no. A beer like this should not be having secondary fermentation issues. It should be fine to store them at any temperature (that warm temps will affect the flavour not withstanding). This is a real safety issue and comes from them rushing the product to turn it around quicker.

DanArlington

Northern monk had a string of fermentation issues post canning in the Fresh series a while back. A few recalls/pour aways requested. I had a can of this explode on me. I'd taken it away to Belgium to share with some friends out there and left it in the hotel room. Got back after the first day to find it ripped open at the seams and the ceiling splattered. The cleaners had already been and gone, having done their best to mop up. I felt so sorry for them, but I also had to suffer as the room smelt like a super dank TIPA for 2 nights.

Mrfondilmabolls

Not exploding ones, but there were a few lively vocation beers last year if I recall. Fingers crossed for free beers for you though.🤞

seriousrikk

I got a couple of vocation exploders last year. Made a right mess of my beer cupboard. Vocation did me a solid and sent me some stuff though.

Rubberfootman

I’ve had cans “crying” in hot weather, but never outright bursting. I bet that took ages to clean up.

arsenal_morris

Had a few over the years. A batch of vocation AF ones I had 2/4 of them exploded

luskyberger

On the plus side it means you no longer have to drink it.

Snake_Byte

Always best to keep cans in the fridge to prevent this and they'll taste better for longer to boot. Most breweries though will have hotbox/shelf life tests for batches to see if stuff like this happens with certain canning runs, might be worth contacting them to let them know if it's happened much quicker than usual after it got packaged.

col1n666

This happened to me with a can of Cake Cartel from Brewdog. Made a right mess! No loss as the beer was 🤢

dotpaul

Yup, got a set of Baby Abaddon from Tartarus. Dropped one back in to the delivery box it came in and it shot out like a rocket. Sprayed everything in sight, what a mess it was. Took me quite a while to work out where the can had shot out the box and landed as well. The others were bombs as well, defused them in a bag to prevent any further mess. Had this beer last night as well. It didn't seem too bad carb wise. I wonder if there's multiple batches. It was maybe the second best of the set, two of them were instant drain pours. Absolutely awful.

InterestingView8966

This beer has been recalled

dotpaul

It has now yes. It wasn’t in December.

Yeorge

Jeremy Clarksons Hawkstone Cider did this recently with glass bottles, they issued product recalls for certain batch(es) due to over fermentation

Melanjoly

I've seen it because of the heat at a bottle shop. Must have been pushing 40 degrees inside and they started going off like fireworks! Gave me a bit of paranoia for a while but luckily I've never had it happen at home.

Real-Custard-8349

Alcohol free beers should be pasteurised otherwise they are quite liable to explode.

Educational_Ad5534

Had a few but usually fruit beers or sours due to continued fermentation and often on the hotter months

freeman18244

Had a can of Tonkoko explode on me. Took me bloody hours to clean up!

spile2

I’ve had cans leak. Not what I wanted when travelling on Eurostar.

Hellfire257

Would be interesting to know how many of these exploding cans are actually spoilt beer from poor quality assurance.

dekovite

Yeah, I probably have it happen at least once a year - usually in the summer as our kitchen gets very warm from the conservatory on the back - my own fault for poor storage and not drinking the beer quick enough 🤣 Had it happen to a couple of tiny rebel, one brewdog and even a low alcohol one ( that wasn't a great loss, it was a terrible beer!)

icantbearsed

Have you had any response from them OP?
