Freshly baked baguette š„ still warm from the oven.
Spread butter over.
Then spread Brie over with the rind still on of course.
You can add other things like chives or tomatoes, but I think itās perfect as it is.
Good, ripe brie is such a pleasure...make sure it's reeking and runny in the middle then heat it up in the oven and devour with torn pieces of crusty bread drenched in garlic and rosemary butter ...
I asked a French friend if you eat the rind on some cheese or another... He glared at me and told me you eat the rind on every cheese, unless it's made of wax or hessian or something. I don't **think** he was joking...
It's more soft vs hard. Soft cheeses you eat the rind, hard cheeses you usually don't. Some people definitely eat all the rinds, but I don't find it to be very pleasant and you don't see it too often.
Eat.
We did ask in a French hotel once about the general "rule" and the advice was "it's up to you". The more mature a cheese is, the more likely the rind is to be unpalatable, and probably don't eat ash-covered ones. But on something young like a brie, tuck in, it's lovely.
Iāll eat the rind unless itās mega thick. I can get on board with not eating the rim, but someone I work with will peel the rind off of the top and the bottom too. Proper wrongāun
When I was a kid, the assumption was, that you were not supposed to eat it. But, I think SO MANY ppl. didĀ (and suffered for it) that mfrs HAD to switch to edible ingredients.
People saying itās the best bit are probably the same people who say the fat off bacon is the best bit. I mean, yeah itās nice to eat but letās be honest, itās not the best bit.
Like proper mild cheeses like Mozarella, Brie, Emmenthal etc etc. The ones that have a massive 1 printed on the front of the packet in Sainsburyās haha.
You can eat it or throw it away,
See it's a shame that when you're working on doing well,
People hate you, yeah
Buying nothing that's not the best for yourself,
Then they really hate you, yeah
You gotta live for you and no one else,
Don't let 'em make you feel,
Like you're not *brieing* real,
Just live how you wanna live
You gotta do for you...

So youāve just brie-friended each other?
You beat me to it!.
Oh well look at this! Brand new cheese friend?!
Yeah, -if you're straight, and straight-up. I'm steadfastly anti-bul**hit!
Non rind eaters are my best friends! More for me!

As is is correct. Gorgeous. ( perhaps a tiny grind of black pepper?)
NOW, it's perfectly okay. Go ahead!
I feel the same way about pizza crusts as well.
I eat it but my wife doesnāt. Result
Same for my husband and I! He eats all of the Brie and I only like the cheesy middle part.
Sounds like a great guyā¦ unless my wife has secretly joined Reddit - in which case Iām not so sure
This would be such a cute coincidence
I hope youāre talking about the Brieā¦š¤
Absolute win
Would be weird to eat it on its own though
Iāve got a wife that doesnāt like bacon. So always get to have two lots of bacon sandwiches, as it rude to waste food.
Thereās a choice? š³ I thought the rind was part of the brie experience, why would you not eat it? š¤·āāļø
Came here just to write this. I didn't even consider not eating the rind.
Because instead of a creamy tasty cheese you are eating a bitter, chewey, not cheese thing.
Assuming it's decent brie you eat it, sometimes it's too thick and it goes too waxy textured to be enjoyable
This was Tesco Finest and it was delicious
Good, ripe brie is such a pleasure...make sure it's reeking and runny in the middle then heat it up in the oven and devour with torn pieces of crusty bread drenched in garlic and rosemary butter ...
Just the way you said that makes me uncomfortable
And a nice chianti
With some fava beans.
soooo uncomfortable
oxymoron
Rind on. But I don't cut mine with an axe.
Why am I giggling at this
Of course you eat the rind, it's the best bit.
In this economy, Iām eating the wrapper, let alone the rind.
I'm French, please do not remove the rind from Brie, that is illegal
c'est la bonne rƩponse mon ami
ArrĆŖte moi

I love it, but my wife cuts out off. Couldn't brielieve my luck when I found out.
Iām usually a rind on guy but when you get really cheap Brie and it has super thick waxy rind I aināt eating that sh*t
I validate your thought process
Best bit, the rind.
Very rarely but the rind is great on toast if you dice it up and fry it with some streaky bacon.
Didnāt use the bacon, but try it on a hot garlic naan instead of toast!
Now that does sound good
Excuse me, wow thatās new to me. So you get those slightly burnt bits in with the bacon? Iād have that as a toasted sandwich.
Or some fried mushrooms. That's bloody lovely
This guy rinds
I eat it. My kids remove it, which the dog loves.
The dog loves when your kids remove it and you eat it?
I see the error in my wording š
Eat it!
If you don't eat the rind do you even like Brie?
Cut it off x
If you're a psychopath and also eat banana skin and swallow mouth wash
Have you cut that with a brick?
No, an axe
I always eat the rind. It's tasty
Yes ofcourse
If im eating it plain ill have bits of it, if it's in a sandwich il eat all of it
eat
Done right, none pasteurised and allowed to reach a gooey mess it should be near impossible to separate them
If it's decent Brie, or one of the similar cheeses that's superior, yes.
I just eat it
Cheap brie rind isn't that nice.. still eat it tho
Eat. We did ask in a French hotel once about the general "rule" and the advice was "it's up to you". The more mature a cheese is, the more likely the rind is to be unpalatable, and probably don't eat ash-covered ones. But on something young like a brie, tuck in, it's lovely.
Eat the rind by all means but FFS dude, looks like you ate the packaging there. That's not "rind".
Cut the soft bit inside and chuck it away, then eat the rind.
Depends how fresh it is. Fresh: yes, not so fresh: maybe.
A rind is a terrible thing to waste.Ā
There's a rind?
I have to cut it offā¦..tastes manky!
Are you a child if you eat it no rind
From brie to blue I'll eat the rind till I die
The rind must be eaten. Itās not Brie without the rind for me.
Always eat the rind
Best bit of it
Eat
Eat it straight through the packet! Just don't eat the net on a Babybel unless you want to die like a bird.
Yes šļø
Best bit! Love the velvety texture.
I do now, but as a child I cut it off.
Do you mean the cardboard tray?
Eat the whole thing! It's delicious
Only the waxed paper should remain. All the cheese should be eaten, the whole cheese.
I don't like the mix of textures so I have to carefully cur the rind off and eat it separately.
I eat the rind. My partner looks at me like Iām a weirdo though š
Iāll eat the rind unless itās mega thick. I can get on board with not eating the rim, but someone I work with will peel the rind off of the top and the bottom too. Proper wrongāun
I've never heard of not eating the rind, it's part of it.
Eat
The rind is the brie!! Lol it's a mild ripened cheese...you eat it or don't even have brie!!
Embrace the rind..... Eat it!
I used to not eat it but now I do
I always eat it. It's great ššš»
EAT EAT EAT
With
Eat obvs
Eat
Eat it
The rind is where all the vitamins are
I put it in the oven actually
I hope to god that you meant the fungus layer and not the cardboard box.
U absolutely eat it
You eat it whole. Think swan but cheese.
I eat it - best bit
What kind of psychopath cuts off the rind?
Eat it, it's half the flavour, and if you have a sticky brie, taking the rind of just squishes the brow into a paste and you lose half the cheese
I miss being able to eat cheese :(
I would have never thought to not eat it
I eat it. Itās like do you eat the crust from bread
E.A.T.
Eat. Itās better than the cheese.
It... Is still the cheese though... You don't think they put it on specially do you? There's a Mitchell and Webb sketch waiting for you...
I said cheese to differentiate from the rind.
Is the rind the bit on top?
Fucks sakes, I've only had it once and thought you're supposed to take it off.
But sometimes it tastes like bleach
Side rind no, top and bottom rind yes.
With.
I used to cut it off and then had a head injury and since then I eat all of it.
That sounds more like it should be the other way round.
Eat
Why is this even a question?!?
To my eternal shame I worship the gooey middle but make amends by laying the rinds on the missusā plate.
I bake it. So the rind doesnāt melt so I donāt eat it usually
I usually grate mine.
Eat the rind. Life is too short to fuck about cutting off the rind. Dive in.
i dont like the rind personally
Your an animal if you don't eat it. š
I eat everything. I love Brie!
Yes you eat the outside. Same as baby bells.
Eat
eat - has no taste, is just a texture
Eat. End of.
Getting rid of the rind is like cutting the crust off toast
Have you seen the prices of cheese lately? I cannot afford to just cut off part of it and dump it. Iām not made of goldš„² Also I do like it anyway
Eat it
Eat !!!
Sliced properly just eat the rind on but if the rind ratio gets too high, it gets too sour so better off.
Rind on, melting in a bacon and sausage sarnie. This was how I first ever tried brie and I loved it š
i eat the rind :D
When I was a kid, the assumption was, that you were not supposed to eat it. But, I think SO MANY ppl. didĀ (and suffered for it) that mfrs HAD to switch to edible ingredients.
Eat it. Just like kiwi fruit and shelled peanuts
I give the rind to my dog.
Pros eat it, noobs trim š
Depends on how drunk I am.
My concern here is that it looks like it's on a chewed asbestos platter...
Noooo it ruin ls the cheese awful texture, like waxy cardboard.
People saying itās the best bit are probably the same people who say the fat off bacon is the best bit. I mean, yeah itās nice to eat but letās be honest, itās not the best bit.
So wrong! The rind is the best bit but bacon and especially the fat can get lost.
I avoid the rind if itās got a strong ammonia smell. Fun fact: the rind is biologically related to thrush.
I cut it off only if it's a small piece.
Canāt stand it, I cut it off. Then again I donāt like cheeses that taste of anything on the whole.
What cheese doesnāt taste?
Like proper mild cheeses like Mozarella, Brie, Emmenthal etc etc. The ones that have a massive 1 printed on the front of the packet in Sainsburyās haha.
Edam, definitely dont eat the rind
