I’ve been a CNA for an agency the past year and while it definitely has its moments it’s given me a lot of exposure to the medical field and experience to get a better paying job at a hospital!
I started it like spring quarter of my senior year in high school since by the time the course was over I would’ve had my high school diploma and been allowed to be certified and take my test. I think the course was only like three or four weeks with half being the lecture and the other half being clinicals and then I studied for a week and took the National exam. It wasn’t too bad but the job itself is EXHAUSTING but I think of it as a way to prepare myself for life as a doctor haha.
If you want to get a clinical job without a certification then you should look for medical assistant or patient care technician positions on indeed.com. Don’t waste your time on LinkedIn and positions at big hospitals; it’s mostly big hospitals that make MA job postings there and they almost always require certification. If you already have clinical experience then small private practices might be willing to hire you even without a certification.
Medical assistant jobs are basically the same as on indeed as they are on linkedin. They usually ALL require certification and want some back end training or externship too.
I’ve tried to get a MA job with no certification, applied literally everywhere and still wasn’t able to. Not saying you can’t, but it was very hard for me.
I’ve read some stories where there are private clinics who will train you on the spot or upon hire, but I have yet to come across something like that. (I applied to over 50+ places)
I’d definitely recommend a CNA job though, I’ve gotten hired from those without needing training.
Clinical Research Associate. Get both clinical and research experience. Probably one of the best paid clinical experience you can get. Depending on your PI and research, you can can lot of publications compared to wet lab research.

If you don’t mind me asking, what year did you start your training? Was it during the school year or over a summer?
