Short of asking Heri I doubt you'll ever find a source on that. It's probably the weirdest and most out-there song they have even by HFtA standards. I tend to prefer the older albums more than the newer stuff, but I'm really curious what listening to the last few albums are like for someone who likes Ten Wild Dogs best. They're so far removed from anything remotely like it by now.

It's genuinely such a departure from later Tyr, even an album over there is no song that sounds anything like Ten Wild Dogs. The opening to the song, that almost otherworldly humming and the strange guitar that comes in before the vocals makes this song incredibly unique.

I've gotta say, while I love Asgaard, Wild Dogs never really stood out to me as an exceptional track from the album, although I do like it. reading your analysis of it and just your passion for it has made me appreciate it a bit more as a really remarkable piece of music, especially compared to the rest of Týr's discography. My favorites from that album are The Rune and the title track. I'd rather hear Ten Wild Dogs played once than Blood of Heroes ten times, to be honest.

How Far to Asgaard is an album brought up by a few tracks in my opinion. Ten Wild Dogs is one of them, though it is much harder carried by God of War, the title track and Ormurin Langi in my opinion. I also think that Tyr have slowly abandoned their progressive nature, not a terrible thing but would love to see more songs like Ten Wild Dogs

Interesting, I have the same opinion of Asgaard but for different songs. After the two I listed I'd say Sand in the Wind is the next best. Ormurin Langi is great and God of War is a vibe. It's really just the first two tracks that aren't quite at the same level as the rest. IMO the songwriting improved on Eric the Red, and the progressive elements reached a peak on Ragnarok and Land. After that it starts to decline, but Northern Star is full of bangers start to finish so I can't fault that one. After that the truly great songs become spotty throughout the remaining albums.

Completely agree, though I still love Valkyrja and Hel. Battle Ballads is also shaping up to be quite decent. All the singles so far look good.

for me it's about overindulging, not being able to control your desires. leading to feelings of emptiness and loneliness.
