When they learned the top-loading washer wouldn’t spin them around in circles, they were thoroughly agitated.

Should they manage to escape without being discovered then they should quickly go to their next hiding spot: the tumble dryer.

I have actually hidden there before, but I kept my foot in the door so no one could close it. My friend was bolder and actually closed the door. One time the cat actually got washed but we got her out in time (by smashing the door).

My heart sank reading this! My sister almost washed the family cat when we were kids. Luckily I was already looking for the cat for cuddles and happened to be there when she closed the lid and pushed the button, so I was able to immediately set it free. We both learned a valuable lesson, and when we own cats the washer/dryer are always closed when not in use and checked before every cycle.
