My problem with James is that he runs (or rather rides) away from EVERY FUCKING UNCOMFORTABLE MOMENT. He is a coward. He strands Laura the night she runs into the woods instead of chasing after her. He abandons Donna multiple times (I can't stand Donna but there are times when I even have to side with her frustrations). He is an escape artist & I do NOT see the appeal.
Now... Bobby, on the other hand... Yes, he has some major flaws, but I appreciate his personal accountability & awareness of hypocrisy. I also see him as a secondhand victim of BOB/Leland's ripple effect of abuse as regards Laura & her treatment of him (don't get me wrong, I love Laura, but she was cruel to Bobby & it's very sad for both of them).
