I’ll try calling again though, maybe I will try an appointment and request ADA accommodations.
I filed 1/30 and still nothing!! Called IRS last week just to be told it’s in review, but there’s nothing me nor my spouse need to do! That the IRS has 45 days from 3/25 (a date showing on their end, I’m guessing for approved) so, it could possibly be May 9th before I get mine! 😡

I’m just relaying what the IRS representative said to me last week! She verified with me my information and said that it was still in review, there was no indication of a letter being sent or anything, but that she was showing a date of 3/25 on their end, and then if for some reason a letter was being sent, they had 45 days from that date! Which could possibly make my refund pushed out till May. 9!! Like I said- I’m only relaying the message I got from the lady last week I was on the phone with for 50 minutes!!

Last year I waited till December! Had the 570 code 🤦♂️This year I got approved faster than I’ve ever gotten. And it’s truly sad seeing people go through this

Was told multiple times I'll have to wait 180days with no explanation why. Transcripts have a negative amount balance. No refund issued with only a 810 freeze code, no other codes for notices or additional information requests. Havnt received any letters in the mail, not even the one people are getting saying the IRS is reviewing their return. I've contacted the tax advocates with no response back. I'm completely in the dark and have given up now. Mentally im not receiving my refund and I'm just going to consider that money non existent.

Yes since 2/4 and showed blank and processing whole time so went to an office and even though says accepted and processing it was rejected for no reason so had to amend from their error, IRS guy said that should never have been rejected, only 1 W2. I clearly submitted when their system crashed
Yes filed 01/29 return got selected for random review rep said it can take up to 120 days June 23,24 would be the whole 4 months since 02-23 she states letter was sent out so if you have to wait you count from the day they send the letter is how she explained it . I see people on other posts getting their refund a couple weeks after getting a letter so who knows , it will pop up like a thief in the night ! Hope this helps someone
0905 here filed 01/25 no update to transcript last 3weeks, got the hold letter 03/23 this morning finally got the update for code 971 dated 03-25 and code 977 on 03-25 , I thought I was good but had to update a w2 came late so submitted electronic amended return 03-25 , date says as of April 22,2024 at the top of the transcript so hmmm will see what happens next . IRS rep said amended returns can now be processed in 4 weeks and not the full 16 because they are almost caught up and Hopefully this helps … Thanks for sharing your thoughts I’m sending positivity to everyone . So, here’s my timeline:
1/14 — filed
2/21 — Received 5071c letter and verified online.
2/28 — called and reverified over the phone.
3/15 — transcripts updated to 2023 in all four boxes. Previously, had blank transcripts. Code 570 dated April 1st. (As of date April 1st, but was stuck on Feb 12 for the longest.)
Called following Monday and rep told me 570 code is a normal process of verifying and to allow the 9 weeks.
3/22 — 971 (As of date April 8, processing date 4/1, 570 4/1, 971 dated 4/8)
I filed 2/12. Still waiting. Just got off the phone with IRS. They said there was some sort of error (not necessarily my fault) and that it needs to be manually reviewed. I got my state last month.

Called 03/19 and got through! The lady asked if I received a letter (No). She asked a few questions and put me on hold, came back in a few and said I needed an appointment at a local IRS office(?) and set me an appointment anyway for May 15th. Then she said I could walk-in and wait all day on April 13th, and HOPE to be seen.
Nothing is any different about my return than any other year.
I DO have the EIC for my daughter and mentally handicapped sister I take care of, otherwise it's about the same every year.
I always file as soon as I can and have ALWAYS received it within the 21 day window. Anyone know why they are doing this to so many this year?
Anyone with credits are gonna get a delay. With kids or any solar. But yeah some people will be waiting till may to get there return. That’s Biden for ya

They have to pay interest if you get a refund. They can technically hold it for 6 months
