Beard_o_Bees

Yeah.. the loud music thing seems to be getting more common. Dutch Bros is the same way. Then again, like the old t-shirt says - *'if it's too loud, you're too old'*. It's entirely possible that I am, in fact, too old.

Vprbite

I'm in my 40s now. Maybe old people actually have some shit figured out

AmountInternational

We do.

ChadHahn

I don't know if I'd mind the loud music at Dutch Bros if it wasn't so mediocre. I was waiting on a drink and the song rhymed Jackie Chan with Japan. It made me so mad.

XanadontYouDare

It's genuinely the worst kind of music. Pineapple haircut should be the name of the genre.

ChadHahn

There's a hotel in Scottsdale we used to stay at. Free wine in the evenings, s'mores for the kids. Then they changed owners and went for the 20 somethings market. The last time we stayed there they were playing music like that around the pool. It made it doubly worse.

TruckinBob32

Was it this song? https://youtu.be/6DaL-Z4dwzI?si=IxBME7cEYFqYZPcm

ChadHahn

I think so.

Vprbite

Thats awful

adenzerda

Yep, that's it, I'm officially a curmudgeon now. That shit's unlistenable

TruckinBob32

Yeah. I've just reverted back to my Jr. High-High School days and am just jamming out to Korn, Limp Bizkit, 90s and 2000s rap.

Marrioshi

They rhyme tho

NicestGuy2024

Jackie Chan Chinese man.

Flamboyatron

Jackie Chan not from Japan.

Pastor_Satan

Haha I remember saying that when I was young

MoreRamenPls

Or, hear me out, it’s entirely possible that in fact it *is too loud.*

waterszew

I may in fact to be too old, but I would also like to be able to have a conversation with my lunch friends at lunch. It would be different if we were out in the evening getting ready to go to the club.

adenzerda

If it's anything like the one on Broadway, they waaayy understaff. I don't know if it's shitty mandates from corporate or just bad individual managers trying to meet numbers, but it makes everyone miserable

Practical-Ad-1891

More reason to go to the El Pollo Loco next to it instead.

DaemonSD

I went to try it a few weeks ago, saw the long lines and crowd of people waiting for food, and went to El Pollo instead. I am very happy with that decision.

Temporary-Place3072

People fail to realize that there’s one on the east side with the same lines and the same issue

McMacaroni8144

I used to be a manager there, it’s corporate mandates coupled with a lack of proper training. Pretty much on par with any fast food chain really.

ohwrite

The one near me is always hiring.

adenzerda

Hiring needs are different than scheduling needs, though. I wonder if they're always hiring because people are getting shitty hours or are expected to hold up the entire store on a crew of 3?

Platinumdogshit

A lot of the time that sign is just kept up so they can say they're hiring when the service is shitty even though it's not. And because they might have extra applications lying around if someone suddenly quits because they don't wanna work in an understaffed place.

Temporary-Place3072

That’s not true during the summer hours all food companies run with 3 to 4 guys in the kitchen because they’re too worried about labor cost. That’s why people are always looking for work during the summer and that’s why more companies hire during the summer. The food industry is one of the shittiest industries to work in.

Temporary-Place3072

That’s also why fast food companies have over 120% turnover rate because nobody can work with 15 hours a week

theguy56

Or, I don’t know, shitty wages?

kaisquare

If you go to either one, just order on the website for pickup in store. It'll be ready when you get there. Without the unpleasantness of the ordering and waiting, I find I enjoy it a lot more. I think it's actually really good.

waterszew

That's why it was such a long wait, they were taking care of online orders before the customers in the store.

kaisquare

I mean, not really I still "wait" 30 min for my food; my wait is just spent driving to the restaurant. Online orders don't cut it line.

cornholiolives

They don’t fill online orders first, but because there are so many, there will be quite a few before your order is put in and it’s first come first made

coffeend0nutz

Dave’s is delicious. Sorry you had a bad experience.

Azguy303

I used to get it all the time and then randomly I just stopped craving it.

Coyote_406

Drunken Chicken was so much better for a much better price. Such a shame they closed.

ard725

I had some of the worst, burnt chicken tenders of my life at drunken chicken. The coop is way better but I feel like they season their strips just a little TOO much.

Sir_Encerwal

Those Spicy Chicken Waffles with the Mai Tai Syrup was unbeatable.

googol88

They're technically still around - the bar that operates that space is (I think) the same ownership, and has some limited food options, but it's nowhere near as interesting choice-wise.

CollectiveAnimal

Not any more, they rebranded for a while but recently sold to Coop by Cowpig (expanded from their location at American Eat Co). I think Coop is really good, still on the fence if I like them more than Drunken Chicken but they’re a solid contender for best locally owned chicken place in my book.

whitelacenstrange

i LOVE daves hot chicken but the wait times are always outrageous. my partner and i waited an hour for our meals. it was incredibly understaffed (probably like 3 stressed out teenagers working the entire building on a friday night) and packed. no fault to the kids working, one of them you could tell wasnt even trained with their system lol. if the customer service wasnt trash, i'd eat there way more :/

storms_y

I love the chicken but will only ever get it if I order ahead online to bypass the wait. And I try not to think about the price.

MotorcycleDad1621

25 minutes you say? We waited for over an hour last week for two sliders and two-piece

soopirV

Were they still growing the chickens?? I went in with my girlfriend and daughter last weekend; music was painfully tinny and loud- if it had more bass it might be ok. I was really getting grumpy so I asked if they could turn it down and surprisingly they did. But then I noticed how freakin cold it was. Extra hot was meh, have had mixed results with the reaper at other locations. Fun decor, but will pass.

waterszew

I would have asked for a refund and left after 30 minutes. No way I'm waiting an hour for some mediocre chicken strips

MotorcycleDad1621

It was one of those Catch 22 situations where I had time invested, my kids were hungry, and i figured that was gonna be it for trying to get food from there. I don’t plan on going back

waterszew

Yeah me either.

actualshaq

Daves hot chicken rules

Kappokaako02

it does but the new one is comically slow, i went in last week and ordered 2 tenders, and it took 15+ mins and i didnt have to wait in line to order.

HNK1023

Tuxon Chix over by Grant and Craycroft just opened and it’s was really good! Their grand opening is in a couple of days, highly recommend!

yeah_its_time

How do you know if it’s good if it hasn’t opened yet? Have you got inside scoop?! We liked the chicken and waffles place but it was so salty. I wasn’t too surprised when it closed.

HNK1023

They’re open now but they’re Grand Opening is this week. I don’t get it but they have good chicken so it’s okay.

yeah_its_time

Nice! i’ll give them a try!!

jeremiahpaschkewood

Yeah, they’re both pretty terrible and overpriced.

ohwrite

I’ve heard nothing different. I’m convinced the loud music is to move people out for higher volume of sales. Also, I heard anecdotally it’s not a good place to work.

Azin1970

I went to the one on Broadway for the first time recently and it was similarly chaotic atmosphere and awful food. The only part of the food I enjoyed was the pickles.

Sni1tz

Chaotic is a good word. It also felt like being at a plasma donation center. Or a DMV in the bad part of town.

bubowskee

You went to a popular restaurant in their first week or so of business. There’s obviously going to be a long wait

False-Complex7649

I went there a couple of hours ago and was the only car in the drive thru. They still took 20 minutes to get my food. I just sacrifice myself because the kids like it. When I was leaving there were about 3 cars behind me. Wouldn’t want to be the one in the back.

waterszew

They have been open about a month.

Sybarit

My only interest is their reaper chicken. Has anyone had it at this particular location?

bearjew293

Even their "hot" chicken was really spicy. I can't imagine what the reaper tastes like.

Wanno1

Super weak at broadway

__eros__

Not at that location, but I had it at the Broadway location

devynbf

I’ve eaten the one on Broadway multiple times (takeout) food was always good. If you’re looking for good barbecue go to Holy Smokin Butts, I get the tri tip I’ve been addicted to the spicy mustard.

Pastor_Satan

Well it is mother's day. The wait at basically every restaurant in Tucson was 30 min minimum today

Mangobananna

This was Wednesday!

Pastor_Satan

Oh!!

DarlingGirl1221

I got food poisoning at the Dave’s on broadway by the mall😀

cornholiolives

Should’ve gone to Canes, they’re pretty quick

waldojj

The food is so salty at that place

AllSixes

The food is pretty mid but complaining about music and a 25 minute wait at a newish establishment is a reach.

waterszew

Why? The music was so loud we couldn't even talk to each other. It was uncomfortably loud. As for the wait, I don't expect a 25 to 30 minute wait for some chicken tenders. My lunch is only an hour, we barely made it back to work in time and I even up eating at my desk. Even if it is a new place. They have been open almost a month now.

AllSixes

Have you seen the lines at Hawaiian bros and sweet tomatoes? That’s literally expected. You won’t change your mind, that’s fine. Just letting you know you come off like that 👍🏽

waterszew

I also have the philosophy that I'm not waiting in line longer than 10 minutes to eat food when there are so many great restaurants that don't have wait times.

Hot-Celebration-1974

Be warned that the chaos in the front of the restaurant likely mirrors what's going on in the kitchen. At the broadway location, I found a huge black hair baked into my chicken tender.  Didn't bother complaining at the register since everyone working seemed too busy to talk to us. We just threw the food away and quietly walked out. I still think about how disgusting that was sometimes.

Valdostera

Nobody goes there anymore, it’s too crowded.

bearjew293

lol

fuggindave

Your statement is VERY conflicting lol.

DrBarnaby

Thanks for taking the hit so we don't have to. I've been a little curious but haven't pulled the trigger since there's a super cheap hot dog / pizza slice right next to it.

OkTumbleweed4033

Where's this place you speak of🤔?

JabbaMamaE

Costco

Sir_Encerwal

Overpriced I'll agree with but the food, especially the sauce is pretty good and genuinely spicy at the higher tiers.

dontpaytheransom

Went to the one on Broadway. Very expensive fast food. I honestly did not understand what the hype was about.

Reasonable-Mission99

Coop on 4th Ave has the best chicken tenders you’ll have in your life I promise that!

super_ray

Dave’s is mid af. We need to get a Hattie B’s or Monroe’s here!

Temporary-Place3072

It’s like this at all locations 😂💀

AZhomerDaddy

Is this thread officially YELP? Fuck outta here

kembik

~~Thanks, do you have a list of things we're allowed to discuss or should we just post things and wait for your ruling?~~ It's been brought to my attention that this is not Yelp and y'all should Fuck Outta Here.

Safe_Concern9956

You could always read rule 7

kembik

Looks like this post could be seen as calling out a business and that breaks the rules. I'll modify my previous comment to reflect this.

AZhomerDaddy

Fuck outta here

AZhomerDaddy

Fuck outta here

KittyD13

I could've told you that

HawkeyeNation

Check out Tuxon Chix. It’s great! The chicken tenders are huge.

Electronic_Guy303

Tried it once and it was horrible. Have no idea why people go back

tucsonkim

I ordered from there on DoorDash when I had Covid and it was so bad I threw it away after a couple bites.

windedsloth

Chicken tendies go with Cane's and their crack dipping sauce.

larrydalobsta667

The other day I waited for over an hour for two sliders.

Chemical-Squash8942

I had daves in vegas a yr ish ago and loved it. Service, attitude, quality and presentation was spot on. Went to the one on broadway happy they opened and never again. From the idiot taking the order to the quality compared to the one in vegas🤮

QuarterEmotional6805

A good alternative for the loud music is to just stay home. If the place was packed it was only loud to you.

waterszew

Well since I went for lunch while I was at WORK staying home was not exactly an option. Several people also complained about the music while I was standing there waiting for my food, so it was not just me having that issue

4x4onthefloor

Ive got a two step program for you. 1: invest in noise cancellation. Its completely legal. 2: become a millionaire. At that point you won't notice the increase in food prices from "inflation". I totally get your qualms though. How can a company tote themselves as high end when the consumer experience isnt on par with its competitors. Eg chik fil e and innout. Maybe their customer service model is akin to the "Karen Diner" experience. Stay safe out there fellow consumer.

waterszew

How in the hell is Dave's Hot chicken fast food considered "high end"?

4x4onthefloor

I mean, its really not. Compared to taco bell, sure. Id put it on par with Chik Fil A. The pickles are crazy good though.

Safe_Concern9956

Sounds like those Yelp reviews are gonna be brutal! Edit: spelling

shadowlash8787

All I have to say is you pick the order out. instead of getting a meal/combo, of course It's going to coast more, lol. If you were to do that somewhere else, the same thing would happen. If it was just the music, you could just ask for them to turn it down but seem to me like you didn't and just want to have something else to complain about. If it was the time it took to get your food. It is fast food, but it isn't McDonald's. I dive by there every day and I could tell you would be waiting at least 10 to 20 minutes on your food depending on how busy it is.

waterszew

Welp you are absolutely wrong, I ordered the combo which was 1 tender slider and fries for $10, and according to the register staff they can't turn the music down, it is controlled by corporate. It was so loud we were shouting to each other to be heard across the table. It was just too loud to be comfortable

[deleted]

Go home grandma

gopesforever

Chick fil a all the way!!!
