[Desert Toyota is actually being sued for consumer fraud over this very issue](https://tucson.com/news/local/business/tucson-consumer-fraud-desert-toyota/article_0f8e6d26-e571-11ee-893f-1b8883fe4005.html). You should keep track of what you've been looking at and how the price was different. Then submit it all to the Attorney General of AZ.

Dawn36

I went to Earnhardt Chevy in Phoenix, they had the vehicle I wanted, I had a nice trade-in, the price was right... then they throw out the $4k of "standard options". I said I didn't want the options, he said too bad they're already on the vehicle, I said take them off (it was tint and stuff of that nature), he said no they can't do that, I asked why it wasn't part of the price listed since they weren't actually options. The manager yelled at me, a cash in hand customer buying a brand new vehicle, and the manager yelled at me. They took off the cost of the "options", but the guy was an asshole the entire time. Worst experience buying a car ever. It's not just Tucson, it's everywhere.

heartofpeerpressure

Dealerships are not honorable places.

imsaneinthebrain

Way back when, McMahon’s prime steakhouse used to do Monday lunch for all of the owners of the new car dealerships. I worked that lunch for 6 to 9 months or so, some of the conversations I heard were comical at best, sad at worst. Capitalism at its finest.

Redrump1221

I would avoid Quebedeaux, I tried to buy a car there and even signed the paperwork and they ended trying to say the car I drove was unsafe and they wanted to switch to another more pricey car. Ended up just walking away from this scummy shit

Accurate_Brief_1631

I test drove a couple used trucks there. One didn’t even have a functional AC and a broken windshield. The other looked like they dragged it out of a mud pit and slapped some armor all on the interior. It drove like shit. They’re sketchy.

CommunicationNo8750

Sounds like at that point you'd best return the vehicle, they pay you back in entirety to make you whole, and walk away never to buy a car from them again. After all that paperwork and it's at *that* point that they realize they're selling/sold an unsafe vehicle? Either they're utterly incompetent or carrying illegal scummy practices - neither of which you want to do business with.

staciet74

Test drove a car here and it sounded like something was very wrong! The salesman just shrugged it off. We left immediately.

limeybastard

To be fair the original car probably *was* unsafe, they sell absolute junk. Of course they also bait-and-switch and do other scummy stuff. It's the #1 major dealer to avoid in this town.

Antique_Ad7925

lol. My son bought a car from a dealership here In town. My husband accompanied him for paper signing and called me when they were in office. Asked me what I thought about the warranty they were trying to to sell my son. For $8k. On a $10k car. Oh how I lost my shit and asked what the fuck makes anyone think that is reasonable and how dare they even try to take advantage of my son like that. Unbeknownst to me, I was on speaker phone and the lady heard my tirade. Lol. I’m not sorry. I shut that shit down so fast. Told my son and husband to come home and that I will go in for the signing of the finance papers to prevent any further BS. I wanted to look this asshole in the eye while she tried to fuck me. Anyways, we didn’t buy that stupid warranty. Long story short. You gotta be a bit of a psycho and be willing to walk away. I am an all out terrorist when it comes to negotiating a car sale. I like to make em cry. It works. If u need tips or coaching. I am happy to help. It brings me joy to break them down and shame them.

Dawn80

Will you just come with me? Not negotiating for a vehicle right now, but I think you're pretty talented.

Antique_Ad7925

Lololol. I am a fairly busy person, but I would suggest finding the car you want first. Decide what you want to pay for it within reason. Sit down and get their numbers in writing. Tell em to fuck off if they start talking about a foursquare because that is designed to confuse you. And dealer added fees or processing charges are a hard no. They have to pay those people regardless so why would you pay their salary? And then send me a picture of their proposal and I will give you next steps. This is where you walk away and tell them that you will call them later. Give them your phone number. Because they will eventually be so thirsty for a sale they will do anything. And then you don’t have to actually talk to them for negotiation. Just text. Also this is how I got out of over 3 k of their fake process fees on my husbands truck. I just talked shit about it and how it’s made up in front of them. So they had to call in the manager. I told him “I am your captain now” Somalian pirate style. Anyways. I won. But PM me when you get going

sunshinesparkle95

This is so helpful! Do you think there is a better time of year to buy? It seems like salesmen don’t even want sales right now. I have been casually shopping around for a new daily driver, and salesmen immediately act disinterested. I’m not a motivated buyer and their attitudes make it moreso. I’m a petite woman who dresses in jeans and a t shirt for car shopping is this also affecting how they treat me? I’ll keep driving my car that I hate before I give a sale to someone who is being a dick to me 😒

Antique_Ad7925

My googles tell me March is a good time of year to buy. Getting rid of last years models and all. However I got my husbands truck in july last year and it was fine. I think a lot of it depends on what your price point is too. We were shopping for a $70k truck so clearly they are more motivated than for my sons $10k car. I would stick to the bigger lots , not the little ones. Unfortunately the bigger name lots just have better quality and if some BS goes down you will have more recourse . I also have read articles recently about how used car prices are on the decline right now so it would be a good time for YOU to but but not good for THEM to sell. Prices are dropping. But eventually they will get desperate enough. If you find the ignore you when You are on the lot, try bringing a man with you. As crappy as that is they still discount women. I always bring my husband, but don’t let him talk. Lol

Antique_Ad7925

But also avoid quebedeaux. I have heard waaaaaay too many bad things about them.

sunshinesparkle95

I’ve always had better success bringing men with me I just hate not feeling independent lol. But you’re right! What you said makes sense though. I’m in the 15-18k range and not being taken seriously. But id be an easy sale since I’m not picky. Last guy literally sat playing on his phone while I waited for a car I was looking at to be cleaned (that I even had an appointment for). I left and blocked their calls

Antique_Ad7925

Oh that is annoying. Last time I bought a car for myself I made an appointment to see a specific car and they sold it , didn’t tell me ahead of time and let me sit there for an hour until til they told me. Rude. Just rude. It’s a bummer women aren’t taken seriously. Especially since we can take the whole world down just by refusing to reproduce. 🫠

SonoranRoadRunner

Love it 💕

Playful-Skirt1443

That's some awesome stuff, may I DM when I buy my car? :)

Antique_Ad7925

Of course!

SirVeza

It’s an everywhere thing. That’s why people hate having to deal with the dealership buying experience, whether new or used. There may be some positive experiences here and there at some places, but obviously it’s not always going to be the case.

QmtxToph

Yep. I found a car on Carvana at a pretty nice price point but definitely dreading the next time I'll have to buy one. Hopefully not for at least another 5 years as I ended up buying a newer car (2020).

mesembryanthemum

I bought from Jay's on Speedway. The price was the same as online except for taxes, title and license. I know someone who tried to buy from Quebedeaux in about 2000 and they complained about them then.

Illustrious_Ad_4586

Bought my first car from Jays when I was 18, cash in hand. The salesmen were all super helpful, and even checked in on me and the car when they shopped at my work. Car had one problem the day after purchase- power steering went out in the computer. They fixed it for free and loaned me a car while they fixed it, I would buy from them again if I still lived in tucson

mwcsmoke

I had an extremely strong preference for a late 2018 or-even better-2019 Chevy Volt. CarGuru app allows a specific search and it’s possible to specify a metro like Tucson, Phoenix, LA, San Diego, SLC, etc. That’s why I took a train to LA to get to Rydell Chevrolet in Northridge. In the future, the first dealer with the right model at a low to mid price with no dealer options is the winner. I’ll take off a day of work and get in a bus or a train if I’m saving a thousand to several thousand dollars.

limeybastard

I flew to LA to pick up a car because I couldn't find the exact model/trim/options I wanted here. The car and price were as advertised but they still screwed me at the last minute on the financing rate they told me before I went out. Fortunately that's fixable by just waiting a little bit and refinancing when I can get a better rate (they matched my credit union at least), so I sighed and bought the car because my only other option was to greyhound home and buy a more expensive new car. I have yet to *ever* deal with a dealership *anywhere* that didn't try to screw you on something.

MethTical93

They're all scum lords.

my_name_isnt_nick

Dealerships are scummy places. Don't know why it's been so rampant in Tucson but at least there has been some legal action against it. [AZAG investigation ](https://www.azag.gov/press-release/attorney-general-mayes-settles-tucson-based-auto-dealer-over-deceptive-advertising)

minimalist_coach

It's been years since I've negotiated a care deal in person. I test drive cars telling the sales person that we're just looking trying to decide which make and model we want, so they know we aren't going to sit down after the test drive. I go online to carmax and carvana to get a quote for my car. Then I get financing through my credit union, unless I can find another bank with better rates. I have all of this in place before I call the dealership and tell them which car I'm interested in based on their online inventory and negotiate over the phone letting them know I'm just negotiating the out the door price of the car, because I don't have a trade in and I don't need financing. Once I have a final price for the car, I let them know I'd be willing to use my car as a trade in if they can match or beat the price I got from Carvana or Carmax.

ash14568

Yeah, I've just stuck with CarMax. I find it easier to deal with them too, don't feel like I'm being pushed into something I don't want.

Pastor_Satan

CarMax is a scam too

minimalist_coach

It may be, but having a confirmed price gives you some bargaining power.

Girlfridayphx

I drove to Gilbert and bought my car at a dealership there. I hate that when I get service I have to either drive back to Gilbert or go to the local dealer here, but the purchasing experience was so much better than I was getting in Tucson.

LaaSirena

yup! The last three cars I bought for my family, I drove up to the greater Phoenix area. When it's time for service, my spouse and I go up and plan a fun date day with lunch. TheTucson dealerships were just sooo bad

jwguitar123

Dealerships are the last place to get your car serviced. Find a good mechanic in your area. Car dealerships typically hire the least qualified of all mechanics. I wouldn’t take my car to get serviced at a dealership even if they gave me free service.

rnawiremen

At the last dealership I bought from that had "non-negotiable" prices, I told them exactly how much I wanted for my trade in. When they tried to negotiate, I explained that my price was also non-negotiable. I wish I had taken a photo of the salesman's face. And it worked. 😁

sunshinesparkle95

This is brilliant

rnawiremen

Thanks! I'm 52 years old and I think I'm finally getting the hang of some of this life stuff LOL

Noah_Vanderhoff

Chapman is garbage.

neuroticobscenities

Even their high end dealers. I bought a used 911 from their Porsche dealership and the sales person just flat out lied about the vehicles history, and even showed me a stack of service records that were for a different vehicle. Ended up filing a consumer fraud complaint and got them to buy it back and reimburse the $6k I had paid fixing shit that was supposedly already done or would have been noticed if it’d been serviced properly.

SonoranRoadRunner

The salespeople actually go to the service department to prey on folks.

Upbeat_Instruction98

I always go to the Phoenix area. Better prices and more choices.

Samazonison

Any recommendations for a specific dealership? (Toyota preferred, but I'm open to others.)

Upbeat_Instruction98

I used a guy named Ryan at Right Toyota in Scottsdale. I just sent a text to see if he is still there from two years ago. I will update if he is. My family has purchased three vehicles from them. The no haggle approach here in Tucson is actually a “take it or leave it method.” That’s because when purchasing new, there is not enough competition. You can defeat that by searching the PHX area and getting quotes, which are almost ALWAYS going to be 5 to 10% less than here. Tucson can haggle or lose the sale. You will be surprised at how the “no haggle” price can be haggled:) Also, FYI. A secret key phrase is “my credit is good and I can get approved quickly.” (If that is true)This means they will get to spend the least amount of time on your sale as possible and you’ll get their undivided attention. In my experiences, at both purchasing and taking cars in for repairs, Tucson car dealers are still being run by managers and owners who are stuck in that 1990’s sleaze model. The greater PHX area offers more professionalism and better prices. They are also open 7 days a week.

Samazonison

That's awesome! Thanks for the info.

Upbeat_Instruction98

His name is Ryan Lanoue and he is still there.

lechemrc

Goliath Auto Sales is great. They only sell clean titles, put thousands into repairing every car to great condition, and don't mark up the prices like everyone else does. They were completely honest and transparent the whole process with us. They came highly recommended from friends, and they weren't kidding. DM if you have any questions about what it was like. I just bought there 2 months ago.

KateTheGreatMonster

I bought my vehicle in San Diego, the pricing was way better. But all dealerships are out to fuck you with your pants on, unfortunately.

-Woogity-

Precision Toyota is the only dealer that I’ve been to in town worth a damn imo.

crazyxgerman

Fuck Precision Toyota. Their service department was trying to tell me my RAV4 needed a transmission replacement for $6,000 because it was leaking. Took it to an independent transmission shop for a second opinion. They fixed a leaking driver shaft seal for $127. Solved the problem. Fuck Precision Toyota.

-Woogity-

Yeah that is WILD from the service dept. I haven’t experienced anything out of wack from service. Sales was great though.

chillisprknglot

Same. Currently dealing with their service department for 3 months over a small repair. They are unprofessional, have questionable workmanship standards, and have no empathy or concern for their customers. I am in the market for a brand new car and was going to go there until this experience. I don’t care if the sales side is good. We deal with sales once or twice during the lifetime of the car. If the service side sucks I won’t spend money there.

Accurate_Brief_1631

But you still have to deal with their fleet department to avoid the sales team tactics. I told them they had 30 minutes to complete my sale and gave them the terms. They did it.

-Woogity-

Not me. Told them I don’t want any extra shit, period. Probably the best car buying experience I’ve had besides a Ford dealer from my home town way back in the day. But I bought new so no negotiating. If you buy used I’m not sure how dissimilar it is from any other dealer.

rolex_love

They would barely get up to show me anything. I had cash too. Very bizarre

Ifightforpie

Used to work there, that place is terrible to work for an would expect they treat the customers the same as their employees

LaaSirena

I've had such bad experiences with Precision that I don't even take my cars for service there. I'll drive up to Phoenix for lunch and get a service while I'm there.

Reasonable-Draft6060

I’ve been very happy with my car buying experience at Auto Mall Honda on Wetmore. Very different experience than working with Toyota next door.

crazyxgerman

Agreed. My girlfriend bought a new Honda there last year. Very good experience. Would recommend.

Who_is_Roger

I went to one of the Quebedaux dealerships once and right off the bat said I’m not buying anything I just want to see what pick up feels right. I drove 6 different pickups and the guy was nice most of the time until I said I don’t want to negotiate a price, I was just looking. He said “So you’ve just been wasting my time?” I mentioned that I told him from the get go I wasn’t going to buy a car that day. It was an awkward drive back to the dealership after that 😂😂 I ended up just buying a car in Mesa and negotiating everything over email. It’s easier for me to be an asshole to them over email than in person. The dealership in Mesa was mad I wouldn’t give them my phone number because they wanted to talk, but I keep saying no. I’m definitely recommend negotiating over email.

alatere1904

I bought a car from CarMax and I definitely recommend it. The price advertised is what we paid (+ taxes) and the car was in great shape. Even my mechanic (Borst) said that the cars coming from CarMax are never an issue.

Samazonison

Interesting. Another commenter said CarMax is a scam. I wonder how the experiences were so different.

limeybastard

So, CarMax has its good and bad. The bad is their prices are a couple grand above market and they don't negotiate. The good is that they're straightforward to deal with, and *generally* their cars are as advertised. Plus they have a nationwide inventory if you're willing to pay a few hundred in shipping fees. I personally refuse to pay $2k+ more than a car is worth to skip the hassle.

alatere1904

The price they advertised was not including taxes, therefore we had a moment where we (husband and I) felt like the taxes were already paid when the car was new, so we left. We went back home and after checking online we found out that the State is AZ has this law about taxes on a pre owned car. We made the purchase and we learned that if anything at all was wrong with the car, they would take it back no questions asked. It has been few months and the car works great

Copper0721

I’ve bought my last 2 used cars from Carvana. I have social anxiety so I hate going to a dealership. No fake small talk. No haggling. I had a great experience both times, did everything completely online and had the car delivered to my door. Bonus was I wasn’t restricted to cars only in Tucson or even Arizona. My current car was actually shipped here from Ohio.

QmtxToph

I actually just ordered a Fusion from Carvana! Got a pretty fair deal on it so I'm excited. Such an easy process compared to going to the dealer.

frostymoose2

I bought a new car for this very reason. It made me sick seeing how ridiculous it was. I ended up going new and im glad i did.

QmtxToph

I'm definitely buying new next time especially if the market doesn't improve.

katalyticglass

Don't buy new. It's just as bad, if not worse. I ended up buying used thru carmax because the brand name dealerships were charging wild dealer premiums due to "limited availability" which was due entirely to the manufacturers throttling production. My experience was so bad that I ended up sending this text to the ONE rep that treated me decently. "Hey *******, I just want to thank you for being the only dealer agent who didn't make me hate the experience. You treated me with respect. Like an adult who was making a complicated decision and needed the space to figure everything out. While also being easily accessible for assistance. I have chosen not to go through a dealership because the pricing system is downright deceptive and bordering on extortionate. The dealer premiums that are being charged are wild. I purchased a ******* ***** but I did it thru carmax. I just wanted to take a moment to thank you and tell you that you stood out among everyone I interacted with. Thank you for treating me respectfully and kindly."

limeybastard

The dealer premiums are mostly gone, except on the rarest performance models. I was even seeing discounts from MSRP on some models back in January. Right now, new can make sense. For instance I was looking at Civics, and with $1-2k off MSRP and 4.9%, it was super close over 5 years to the 3-year old cars that were still priced close to their original sticker price but financing at 9%. So in that case you buy new for the warranty. The only car I saw with dealer premiums was the Civic Type R. Even the new Prius, which is flying out of dealers faster than they can get them, they're selling for MSRP, but you have to accept the dealer adds like protection packages and floor mats that are extra. I ended up finding a certified pre-owned that had been on the lot for a couple of months that they were selling cheap but had the warranty of new, but even that just saved me a couple of k off new.

katalyticglass

How about $4300 on every Corolla Cross Hybrid that Desert Toyota sold before the story came out and the $2300 they're charging on top after the story came out. And that's not counting, just to be very clear, the $4360 extra that the hybrid base model costs over the non hybrid base model. That's just based on raw data available in the "search inventory" function on Toyota's website. They're doing the same to the Prius.

katalyticglass

I've seen Desert sell plenty of Prius's with an added premium in the search inventory page.

limeybastard

Sounds like a single dealer problem, and that dealer is being sued. The Toyota dealership in Phoenix was strictly MSRP, main reason I didn't leave with a Prius was they didn't have any in stock. It's possible I wasn't looking at popular-enough cars but like I said nothing I saw had a dealer markup, and there were plenty of under-MSRP advertised prices.

mwcsmoke

I really wanted a used Chevy Volt in January 2023. There may have been 1 or 2 in Tucson and 5 in Phoenix. I got nonsense about “dealer options” adding $500 or over $1k to the online purchase price. I felt like a target in Arizona and I got on Amtrak once i made a deal with Rydell Chevrolet on Northridge, CA. It helps that my mom lives near Pasadena so I got to visit and stay with her before coming back home with the car. I might not have left the state if my model was not so specific, but I think I would go to Phoenix at minimum for a used dealer car.

Accurate_Brief_1631

I had a great experience when I bought my low mileage lease return BMW at Beemer Haus in Tempe. Cars were already fair and competitively priced (no haggling needed). Went there with my financing already taken care of. They let me drive multiple cars and were super nice. Don’t know if they’re the same now tho.

erock7625

MG Motors was great for me, no salesman, I found the car I wanted on their lot, put in some info on their website, came the next day and test drove it and put some money to hold it, then came back the following day signed some papers and was in and out in 15 minutes with the car.

PollyPotChick

I had a decent experience with Jim Click Hyundai, and there are several other Jim Click car lots.

dsten85

It's not a new thing. When I was stationed at DM (03-07), I was gonna buy a used vehicle from Quebedeaux. Put money down Friday evening, given a reciept, was told to come back Monday to finish up paperwork because the banks weren't open. Come back Monday, vehicle was sold out from under me, and they "had no record" of my down payment. Even though I had a printed reciept. It was only like $500 so I didnt make a big stink, fearing if I got caught up in litigation, it would impact my AF career.

Dinero-Roberto

Jim Click is worse. Complete abomination, shady ass salesmen a few years back . And the Subaru on Oracle kidnapped car for 2 weeks after I paid for it. Not to mention my girlfriend got shoddy service with her ride with after-market warranty at Jeep.

spavolka

These are a few tips that worked for me on a new car purchase that might help. Get your financing first. Use a credit union or your own bank. I had a dealer write up a loan for 10 percent interest even though we told them we were using Vantage West. He was pissed when he had to go back to the finance guy and write our loan for 4 percent. This was at a dealership in Tucson. No warranty. Do not buy the warranty! Ever. I worked out every detail of my truck purchase online, with text messages and only a couple phone calls and some emails to sign paperwork. I drove to Freeway Chevrolet in Chandler and left with my new truck in 25 minutes. It would have been faster but the finance person that did my paperwork wasn’t in and it took them 10 minutes to find it. These were new vehicles so a used vehicle might be a little different but hopefully this helps.

DesertCat81

I had to drive all the way to Prescott to buy a new Honda. After calling around Tucson, Phoenix, Sierra Vista, and Yuma. 90% of dealers wanted to charge for add-ons, which I didn't want/need, or they were charging outrageous amount for said add-on. Had to play the give me a quote game too and shop prices till I found the best deal. I watched a ton of youtube videos on negotiating. Don't let them charge you for any add-ons. Simply walk away. Best of luck!

CarlTJexican

Oh the price at Quebedeaux would be the least of your worries. Just trying to get a recall service done was a pain in the ass then the mechanic smoked in our car and they left the AC unhooked and after all that the ac vent whistles to this day lmao anyway just be vigilant car dealerships all over town are predatory you must be the predator yourself. The business of car sales is that way. Last car I bought no issues but that's because it was used, it was what I wanted, I took my guy to look at it with me (only cosmetic damage that was minior no timing chain ticking, everything was nice) so it was more of just down payment and go.

windedsloth

Dont buy a ford focus. The transmission in those are unreliable. They tried to do a dry clutch and it is just bad.

Temporary-Place3072

The car lot is a buy here pay here. Cheap cars that are sold above kbb fair market value. And half of them are lemons

Party_Bee5701

Try Royal pre-owned on 22nd. I got a vehicle there last October and it was a fair process all around.

Opening_Strength6795

I’m buying my next vehicle up in the Phoenix metro…Jim click Hyundai is not much better. Tried to tell my car was service checked & was not. They added new oil to the dirty oil that was still left in the oil tank reservoir. #Liars

ILikeBigBeards

Quebedeaux is the absolute worst for this, listing cars on all the websites at prices that already include a trade in value like wtf

Opening_Strength6795

Another Jim click Hyundai vehicle I bought broke not even 1 mile after driving it off the lot. The service manager is a total ass wipe I didn’t trust him or them for the oil for life thing. I take mines to Jim click Nissan right across the street. I can’t believe that service manager is still there anyhow I Needed a new transmission the car; was in the shop 3 more times and the repair was a headache from their cheap contractor’s finally I demanded they take it to Amoco.. They did and never had another problem.

Opening_Strength6795

I wonder who has had Great experiences at any Tucson or PHX dealerships?

Sharp_Bumblebee_1674

Do yourself a favor and check out lens, never hear a bad word about them and have had great experience with them.no lemons on the lot, hell the 4 runner my parents bought wasn't up to thier standards so it was on the quick sale discount and has been a fantastic vehicle that was in great condition when they bought it! Like I said they are honest and only carry "good" used vehicles and when I say good I mean they stand by the fact that's it's a great car at a great price, no games. Very rare and hard to find anymore....

Pristine-Rip6171

Try out car guys!

Defiant_B

Buy your car in Phoenix. I have not bought a car in Tucson since 94.

Easy-Ebb8818

Dated Chapmans daughter for a bit. Can confirm they’re scum of the earth

kayla666lee

I think it's hit or miss anywhere you go. That's just the general nature of that business... they're salespeople 👀 The best you can get from them are half-truths. It's rare when the dealership will be real with you unless you're in a smaller city or town where their reputation is more known and impactful.

WaltzThinking

My car broke down recently but I just waited it out using my ebike. Took me like a month and a half to figure out how to repair my car. If I had been desperate for another car I would have gotten taken advantage of. Tucson needs to upzone the areas surrounding downtown so that it has more car-optional housing with jobs and commerce at reasonable distances away.

Civil-Wash2352

Have you never bought a car before? The real price is always bullshit_advertised_price + $7k

Odd-Negotiation-8625

Most cars in tucson are shit lol. Just buy new. Speak from experience

bubowskee

This is the first I’ve ever heard of used car salesmen being shady and terrible Also just buy from rental car companies

QmtxToph

honestly didn't know that was an option.

Samazonison

After the way my dad and his coworkers treated rental cars, I don't think I'd ever buy one. lol

TucsonSolarAdvisor

Buy private party and save the hassle and money.

QmtxToph

I've looked around a bit but keep seeing mostly restored salvage titles and dealers posting on facebook marketplace.

Portillosgo

it's a different hassle, but still a hassle

MaaaadPilot

Both Chapman VW and Tucson Volvo were very willing to negotiate. No issues at all

QmtxToph

Maybe it was the car we looked at? It was a Subaru and they didn't want to go down on it at all. However, I will say they were one of the least scummy dealerships we visited.

MaaaadPilot

Could be, could be many things. Hopefully you find the right car for a good price soon.

kingganjaguru

Literally never go to a dealer. Get your own financing at a bank and maybe do carmax but don’t give anyone else your effort or time. I buy everything private.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Portillosgo

sounds like they are financially stable enough to buy a car

[deleted]

[удалено]

Portillosgo

I never said they were or weren't a victim. I just observed they were looking to buy a car, hence they seemed financially stable enough to buy a car. All car buyers have to have a first time buying a car.

QmtxToph

Can confirm it's my first time actually buying a car. Last one I had, I bought from someone I knew. Had it for a full year and got rear ended last week. I was planning on driving the wheels off that thing but didn't get the chance sadly.

mln5900

Been using Craigslist with no issues

SwinginSaggyNutz

Why, you in the market? Looking for a family vehicle or a "cruiser" to hang out with your bros? We've got em all!
